How many are they interviewing? How are they splitting up the program?
How many are they interviewing? How are they splitting up the program?
I'd be really surprised if the program split up, but that's just my opinion. I don't think it matters how many are on the list, they are just going to add more names and do more interviewing until the job is filled.
Portia,
Are you on the hiring committee or a member of the team. What is your thoughts on the timeframe of a hire. I'm asking as a parent.
Neither, like I said, just sharing my opinion. I have no idea about the timeframe but I hope for all families involved that it is very soon. It is reasonable to guess that an offer would be made before the end of the year.
Portia,
Phone interviews or campus interviews starting next week?
I heard campus
Any word on what was/is happening with the Head position at McKendree University?

I phone interviewed for the McKendree job and flew out for an interview. Got a call today that they are hiring the interim head coach who has been coaching in college for all of 4 months. Oh well.
Oh we'll they will continue to be a crappy team. Sounds like AD doesn't want to pay a ton of money for a coach
Yes....without saying the amount offered, this is true. Lets just say I make more as an assistant coach right now. Ya know, I understand that our sport doesn't exactly rake in the dough, but it's sad how a head coach that will have to coach for 3 seasons straight (cross, indoor, outdoor), can't make a decent paycheck at a lot of universities. Such is life I guess.
Eastern New Mexico position filled. Maximum they were willing to pay the coach was 38k with a masters degree. Too low for me!
So just out of curiosity, what does a school like McKendree offer as a salary to the head track/xc coach?
