Which one...
Apparently Coach Kearney has been put on administrative paid leave.
Any word on Pitt's distance coach?
Bev K is not going anywhere, the Texas Women;s program would go downhill quickly if she is forced out.
If Bev Kearney ends up not returning from administrative leave, then what?
Who replaces her as the women's coach? Will it be another woman or a man?
Also will Texas ever combine the programs? If they do, who would be the head coach?
Texas seems to be such a big program that it is hard to be a head coach of both -- you would have to be more like Vin, Director or Track and Field.
Hope the thing with Bev blows over. I hope that the last year's events have led them to be much more cautious and that just some modest or small 'possibility' has led to this situation and gets resolved.
my guess would be they make Bev Director of Track, and if they keep Bubba, he is Associate Head Coach, I'm basing this off of current university pay scale. Hayes and Sisson stay on as Distance coaches and Mario becomes an Asst Head Coach along with Rose Bimmer.

There is no way Bev is going to be made director of both programs, did you not see she's on administrative leave? She'll be lucky to keep her job, she's not going on admin leave for a promotion. Bev has no interest in coaching men anyway.
Win National Championships and you become Directors Look at the recent treands in D1 coaching. Mark my words if Tex EVER combines , BEV is leading the group. It for sure as hell is not going to be Bubba, They may give it to Mario, Who knows
Let me get this straight---you are asserting that the coach who was just PLACED ON LEAVE would head a combined program. What part of this don't you get? Being placed on leave is usually a precursor to BEING FIRED not a precursor to being given a huge promotion.
Isn't "less than a year" the standard if you're hired in late fall? It seems normal to me that they would offer that upfront and then renew it. I'm confident Stanford will want him longer.
What I'd be surprised about is that Eskind would want to stay in California longer than a year, even for a strong Pac-10 program. For some reason I always thought he would never want to live in Cali; that he always wanted to stay in the southern states. However, we can make the argument that he's currently working on the farm, but it isn't exactly the same thing ;)
I like that Eskind is shy. It's adorable.
Just reading this stuff about Pitt now. I was wondering why I hadn't seen Bell around in so long. It's weird that nobody seems to know where he went off to. Hopefully they can hurry up and find a good distance coach because things will surely go to hell if Webb keeps running the show.
I will concur with the previous posters on what I saw with Cady. Looked like he was doing a great job and had a good rapport with the girls. From what I heard, he was in a tough situation and was desperate to get out. He was free lance coaching some older runners too, I believe. Seemed like he was doing a lot of work to not be getting paid a dime.
Anyways, any leads on who they are looking at? Any interviews? Good luck to whoever ends up there because I hear its not easy for a distance guy.
I applied for the position near the end of September and haven't heard anything either way. When I called about the process a week or so after applying, I was told they were looking at applicants and didn't have a timetable at that time.
Well Pitt needs to make a desicion soon as the track season is upon us. and these kids deserve a coach when the season starts
I heard they have a timetable. Expect the week following Thanksgiving
will they start interviews or have a hire?
Start interviews
you seem to be in the know, nay idea who they are talking to?
I know there is a list. I shouldn't name any names though.
