My daughter, who is a junior has begun to seriously think about colleges. She is definitely going to run in a D1 university, the only question is where. She ran 10 :32 on the track last year as a sophomore and was an NXN finalist last year. She will be attending the NXN meet again this season. I do everything I can to make sure she doesn't feel pressured into competing in college, although she has made it clear she does want to run. The problem is, she has her sights set on Princeton, Harvard or Columbia. For those who don't know, the ivies don't give athletic scholarships. My family is not poverty stricken by any means, but we are not affluent. My wife was recently laid off. The bottom line is, paying An ivy tuition free would just about give me a stroke. My daughter has about a 4.1 GPA which is lower than what most ivies would admit anyway. Could the running get her in? I am basically being forced to choose between my daughter's happiness or my retirement
