I believe Wenley Louis is back this year after being academically ineligable last year. That's a huge swing in Geneseo's favor if true and if he can return to his 2010 form. Looks like it will be a great matchuo between Geneseo and Cortland with Cortland dominating sprints and field and Geneseo dominating distance. Geneseo could steal a lot of points in the jumps with the return of Louis so right now I'd give them the advantage. |

Wow no respect for the Buff State sprinters... |

buff state does have some good sprinters but i think he was refering to the overall point values a team will earn, Buff state won by a single point last year and geneseo didnt have wendley or several of there distance guys running. IM calling for geneseo/cortland, but geneseo for the win. |

I know of atleast 2 Buff state sprinters that were point scorers last year and didn't return this year. Though, as long as they can keep Law on the team for the next 3 years they should be all set in the short sprints |

Justin Allen is at Baylor, B.J. Murray is at Texas State, Xavier Mateen graduated, not sure if Campbell is back. However, that sprint team was so stacked with young guys last year that they still should be the best unit in the conference (assuming they have their usual great recruiting class). Also, Jones figures to run away with shot and weight this year and Chris Rones is the odds-on favorite in the hurdles |

Jones will win neither the shotput or the discus this year, as the returning champ in the SP (Torres of Cortland), and in the discus the 2nd and 3rd place finishers return (Torres and Markel, Cortland and Geneseo respectively). These individuals beat Jones last year. Yes, it is very possible that Jones may win, but you state it as a fact rather than a possiblity. In the hurdles, Caughell of Fredonia (and NCAA qualifier last season) also returns, so he should challenge Rones for that. |

800 wise lets break it down by team: Buff State: Nobody has mentioned tim fargino yet, they return him (1:54) and kyle p. 1:58 pr Brockport: Nate Mattews show, Cortland: Aside from cody dont forget kyle fitzpatrick who is a 1:54 or 1:55 guy Fredonia- NO guarino twins, time for some new guys to step up ( DAVID BALLARD, and anthony) Geneseo: Carter should be a real player, along with nate debover, kevin bronson, streb and others geneseo has some real talented mid-d Oneonta: Tom Haskins yes, but nate weber returns (1:54) off an injury so he could play a part in the scoring, and could improve big time Oswego- They return Ben Sweet (1:56) pr and Chris Grahm (1:57) Sweet could very easily play a role in the scoring and look for him to improve big time Plattsburg-UGhhhh trevor kent?? not to fast of a guy. |

Its actually 4.2 but still a great time, he beat Guarino for Gods sake. Where was this guy in cross? Look out for him this year![/quote] haha, it means absolutely nothing that he beat guarino. Dont try to make anything out of it more then it is. It was a dumb turkey trot lol. Guarino is probably out of shape, and he shouldnt be in shape right now anyway. |

Actually Guarino is training under Jeff Beck right now and is likely in decent shape. Last year he ran 21:00 which is what Brimstein ran this year, and we know he was in shape then. Brimstein also beat Craig Coon (sub-15:00 5k) and Avery who is coming back for indoor this year. Definitely a legit performance. |

true, but it doesnt mean they are in that shape now does it. brimstein is in good shape but honestly it is what it is. lets not make something of this of what it isnt. |

Word has it that Avery from Brockport will be back for indoor to use his last season of eligibility. Granted he apparently can't race on a track for $#!t, you can never count out a low 25's cross guy. |

if this is the case. brimstien should be doing more distance than mid distance. Hes has some leg speed and now endurance...they can be a lethal combinaiton in the 3k or 5k. as for mid-d im gunna say the top guys to watch are Chris Carter (GENESEO)-Heard guarinos have been working with him but who knows, should be fun to watch either way hes got some talant and did most of his work last year off of distance training. Tim Fargino (BUFF)- Coming back for a 5th year and should be fun to watch, always a tough racer and always in there for a good fight, Cody (Cortland)- also has some good talent and a chance to do real well this year. Mathews(brockport)-ran well last year Im calling these guys the top 3 from my view. also up there is Nate D, Kevin Bronson... |

they dont even live near eachother....you guys look into things way to far. anyways what about the dmr which teams are gunna have the team to look for. obviously Geneseo, but i also think cortland is going to have a very solid team. |

You are retarded. Stop making fake arguments with yourself. |

Brimstein, from what I've heard from the Geneseo guys, will run mid distances indoors but jump to the steeple in outdoors. He is in excellent shape but didn't do any work over the summer. He could have easily been in Geneseo's top 5 this fall but he got cut at the time trial. He worked his butt off this fall and is ready to go now. He can potentially be very good. He also eased off the last 1/2 mile of the TT and still ran a very respectable time and beat the people that hummnow mentioned in his post. Carter, Brimstein, Clark and Streb will probably be the DMR that they will try to qualify with in Erie or in Boston. Matt Denk (Aquinas - 1:55, 49) is also at Geneseo but has pledged a frat and will not compete - what a waste of talent there. Berube will concentrate on the 3 and 5k this winter. No miles (did run 4:09 last year) except for Sunyac points.

As a Suny G alum who bleeds blue and follows everything they do now that I'm out, Cortland scares me. They really improved this fall and have some legit middle distance kids who can run with Geneseo. The Indoor Sunyacs will be a much anticipated distance showdown. My boys in blue have a great amount of depth though. Just look at that outdoor performance list from last spring and see most all of them are back from the 800 on up. I still get pissed though when I look and see that our sprint coaches get no sprinters in - ever. Oh to have Buff State standards! Oh to have coaches who go out and recruit like Woodsie does. |

How is Streb still running indoor? Shouldn't he have used all his eligibility by now?

Streb has used up all of his eligibility. He had cross country eligibility left because he did not compete in XC his freshman semester, in which he also did not attend Geneseo. |

Streb did not run indoor in 2009-10. May have run an early season meet but I beleive he got a medical hardship. |
