Keitan 5:45 for 21 mile. she could hold on. We'll see what the others do.

What is going through Meb's head right now. Courageous, no doubt, but he has to be in a world of pain right now.

Do you think his training has suggested to him he can handle this pace? Or do you think that he's made the decision to stay competitive as long as possible, even if it means blowing up later?

Keitany holding on up front, though her lead is shrinking consistently.

5+ miles to go she is up by 88 seconds. She's been losing about 10 seconds per mile off her lead.

she'd have to give up almost 18 seconds per mile.

Dropouts: Jen Rhines, Jessica Augusto, and someone else (sorry)

Meb could just be "feeling it" today. Maybe it's one of those magical days where everything is going well, and on top of that, he's in the right race to do something about it.

Probably what every marathon thinks at mile 17: "hey, maybe I can hold this pace!"

My guess is that he's just going to hang with the pack for as long as he can. Who knows, he's surprised us before, but this pace he's running is pretty intense.

22 miles for Keitnay was 5:54. BUt she only lost 11 seconds. 1:17 to hold onto over 4 miles.

Go Meb! Looks like he's working harder than others, but if you had said he would be hanging with this group before the race, I'd have called you crazy.

Keitany gets caught. I think the chase is getting a view of her, and they'll see her coming back.
