The announcers are saying we might see a 2;05. we might see a 2:04. His last 2 miles were 9:04.

4:48 24th mile. So it looks like the 2:04 won't happen. Sub 2:05:30. 4:50s versus 4:30s costs you a minute.

He's up 55 seconds.

He's slowing slightly to 5:05 pace.

Through 23 miles in 1:56:39. 2:12 looks likely. Maybe 2:13

You realize that means he's on pace to run 2:07 in New York? And perhaps better the previous course record?

There you have it folks. The Kenyan marathon team for the Olympics is complete. As I type, Geoffrey Mutai is earning himself a ticket to London.

So, great debate, would Mary have won if she had not run like a fool? Why do elites still make elementary mistakes.

Mutai is an absolute machine. Watch him run. The current world record is a joke. Put him and Mosop at Berlin on a nice day and the word record will get totally smashed.

This may just be part of the Kenyan mentality. Do you think we'd be in 2:03.XX if it wasn't for that mentality?

Did you think 2:05 would happen in New York for a men's course record if it wasn't for that mentality?

BTW Mutai just passed Jaguar1

Ego. I wonder if she would have gone out so hard if Shobukhova hadn't just posted such a fast time?

You know AK has the last word.

BUt I do think Geoffrey has earned it. NO pacemakers, destroys an elite field that has Emmanuel, Tsegaye and Geb Geb.

ONly Geoffrey can do it.

KIspang, I am sorry.
