Slow for a 20 year old isn't it?
Prove it.

In all seriousness, if the kid seriously wanted to Age-Fake then he wouldn't have chosen an age that was already 1-year too old for the academic grade that he's in...
He's not /trying/ to age fake, even if he is too old for high school (which I don't believe he is). He doesn't know his real age.
NJ represent!
There's a difference between Cheserek and Haile. Haile raced as a professional 19 year old for a year and then claimed to be 17. The man was a fraud. Cheserek came here as a high school kid and has raced as a high school kid ever since. Good for Cheserek. He and Verbikas are embodiments of the American dream. Haile was, is and always will be a fraud.
cheserek claimed to be an orphan in the 10th grade. At last years mile race at icahn his "real" age was listed suggesting he was too old for the 10th grade. We subsequently learned he is not an orphan afterall. I wish him well, he might not be a fraud but his "handlers" are.
So another 20-year-old kenyan ringer is beating up on a bunch of 17 year olds. Great. At first I though this was some ultra race that nobody cared about. What the hell kind of distance is 11:55?
2.5 miles
4 km
Here is a physiological fact folks: the less body fat you have in your face, the older you will look, period.
Given that africans and native americans in general tend to have prominent cheekbones, if you add the low body fat percentage to one who runs, they will look much older.

what is the 5 man average records?
When Bill Leahy, Catholic Memorial - MA. broke 13:00 at VCP in 1963, we all believed he ran a short course. Now 48 years later the 12:00 minute barrier is broken and some find fault with Ed Cheserek. If it's not the course, it's the runner! Let's just celebrate his achievement.

Strange....I look younger when I lose body fat.
The 2004 FM team with Grundewald (not sure how to spell it) and Kimple who went to Cornell averaged something like 12:48. CBA, the #1 team in the country averaged 13:01 today on a very warm day. I believe 3 guys under 13 today.

Maybe you are just abnormal. Scientists have proven that babies have more body fat than old people. It is explained by science.

Yes, being fat, bald, and toothless is the secret to looking young. I guess incontinence is also a secret to youth.
