Because next year they will be an even better 1-2 punch.

plus itll give them one more year to load up more east african runners from overseas and maybe have a good team.

How about Toledo's Ari Fisher?

runners that are freshmen or other possible redshirts can run local races with ease (they cannot easily travel) so for a school like Oregon, they do not have to make a decision about whether or not to redshirt until they have to travel (e.g., to the adidas/Wisconsin Invite). Of course, they cannot score if that is an issue. For Oregon, I think it was generally stated that the 'Lukes' would not race until Wisconsin.

Other schools where this redshirt issue arises include those that have run at/near home, like OSU, Colorado, Minnesota, ...

Some runners had late summer seasons (Hughes, LV, ...)

Didn't Derrick and Riley both come in ahead of Colby and German last year? Is there a reason to think that they won't do it again?

Also, Estrada and Chip could be up there with the very best.

James Kostelnik of Duke was out with an injury during summer, not sure if he will come through at the end of the year, or just use his redshirt year

well, if german is healthy. that would be a reason.

Dont forget UNC's number one guy he should easily be top 10, and their team is looking like a top 5 contender as well.

When I went to watch their first home meet Fisher was healthy and doing a workout ahead of the girl who is running #2 for them. I don't think she's hurt. If you add her to the team they have, Toledo is pretty good on national level.
