well lets look at it this way
rupp: 3 world championship teams and 1 olympic team
3 time national champion at 10k
AR in 10k and 5k indoors
has placed in diamond league races in top 3
half marathon debut with 3rd place finish
has improved every single year in not jsut iems but performances (wc 2009, 8th in 10k, wc 2011 7th in 10k and came back for 9th in 5k in first major championship double)
14 all americans, 5 individual champion, 1 relay champion, one cross title. also former CR in 10k and multiple pac 10 titles
centro
one individual champion, one national champion, and 3 time pac 10 champion all at 1500m, one CR in 4xmile and 7 time all american. also one bronze in the world championships.
if you go by college careers, so far rupp has the better one but centro still has one more year left. so rupp gets that one.
if you go by teams theyve made, rupp also gets that one with his 4 time us team appearences.
by records, it'd be rupp for both college (even if former) and american
if you go by national championships also rupp, altho this is centros first championship i believe.
if you go by international championship performances, centro
by hardware, centro
by the amount of time each ahs accomplished all what they have done, centro gets the nod because he's done in all in a shorter time span which suggests bigger things to come (not that rupp isnt going to have bigger things either)
to be honest, i think i'm going to lean slightly in centros favor because of the national championship in his first championship and the bronze in his first xc. it's pretty even though and one could argue that the 5k and 10k are just very deep right now (bekele, farah, merga to a esser extent) but the american 10k scene is weak as well.
centro, but by just a bit
