Stop running. Rest.
Stop running. Rest.
Thanks for this. I too injured this same area playing softball sprinting to a ball. It's just the right side. It feels like all muscle. I guess it's rest for a while and possibly no 13.1 next month. (Glad I didn't pay the registration fee yet.)
Dear Sir,
I just wanted to say what an absolutely brilliant post! I live in Thailand and I'm absolutely positive that if I went to a doctor or other practitioner here (physiotherapist etc.) I would not have found such valuable insight into this condition. I will certainly be trying this program as best as I can without availability of some of the equipment and I hope for a full recovery.
The power of the internet indeed!
Best regards
Mark
Thank you for this also. I have been dealing with my ab pain for about a year now and it has caused me to have iliopsoas issues (resolved) and lengthening groin pull recovery also.
If anyone who completed the AT regimen see this, did you continue to cross train and if so what did you do?
Hello I am a retired US Marine 30 years I retired last August I often run about 5 miles every other day. Last week I was just play with some kids and took off running and bam right in my lower growing area a sharp pain and burning. I immediately stopped. Now when I first start running it hurts until I start getting warmed up. I press in the area and feel just a little discomfort not much. No bulging of any kind. I am going to try your lunges work out. I am now a sheriff and have to report to the sheriff academy on Jan 6 2017 so I have to be right. Any other recommendations Sir?
I have similar pain in my lower right abdominal area. Pretty sure it started when I was was doing leg raises while hanging from a door frame and doing pull-ups. Felt something give deep in the psoas or rectus abdominus area.
I foolishly thought I would ignore it. I stopped with the leg raises, but I tried to keep running and carry on as normal hoping it would get better. But the pain became annoying and fairly constant so I stopped any intense sports. There was no bulge indicating it is not a typical hernia.
I saw a sports doc who recommended shockwave therapy on the pubic part of the pelvis. I've had a few treatments from a physio who also did some needling and massage in the hip flexor area. It seemed to help a bit and I had some days with no pain. I started slowly strengthening and doing light jogging. Frustratingly however, It seems to get reaggrevated fairly easily, especially with pelvic thrusting type activities :(.
It's been about six months now and It would be nice to know what it is. Sounds similar to what people are describing here. Hoping that the lunging exercises will help.
