I don't think that many. I reckon in the USA, in any one week, no more than 100. I think 1500-2000 world wide.

You are special.
Well, everyone on LRC runs at least 160 miles per week, so considering that this site has about 100k UMVs, that is a good deal of folks running more than you.
Me
Not sure, but the number of people who care is one.
Me 2
I would bet in the US it is at least 1000. That would be the very low end of my guess as well.
16000
just about anyone who has to travel by foot / hunt by foot. so pretty much the rest of the world.

Like, really wrong. Not even close.
100/7 = 14.xx miles per day.

Your point? If you think there significant groups of people in the world who run over 14 miles every single day for non training purposes, you are not very smart.
You could mutilate your own genitals and say you are among only 5 people in the whole world that did so last week. This would make you a moron unless you had a really good reason for doing so.
What is your reason?

9 men and 1 woman on this online log alone.
http://www.logarun.com/leaderboards.aspxI'd guess the number of people that ran 102+ is higher than you estimate. Just a random guess, but I'd say closer to 1000+ in the USA.
Now if you mutilated your genitals, AND ran 102 miles, you would be in an exclusive club.

100 mpw is a serious training effort, but when I was an assistant coach for D1 XC, we had weeks with 7-8 guys on ONE TEAM running over 100 mpw. There are a lot of teams out there. Way more than 100 college guys routinely go over 100 mpw at this time of year.
oh my God, millage doesn't mean shit if ur just running "junk miles"
I logged 100 exactly...
