Add Texas A&M, Clemson, FSU and Missouri
The ACC currently in talks with Pitt, ECU, West Virginia, USF, Memphis and Louisville.
Interesting moves. ACC track really takes a hit.

Quick addition. ACC also to make bids for Penn State and Syracuse.
This is crazy. Sources?
SEC and TAMU is nearly a done deal. The rest is up in the air. But with TAMU leaving the Big 12, everything on the board changes.
I can't reveal my sources. Sorry.
However, this is not some web-rumor message board crap. This is from someone in the know.
TAMU is a done deal. Clearly though, the SEC isn't stopping there. 16 teams is their goal.
ACC loses two teams no matter what. So they will bump to 16 if they can.
This is all coming at me very quickly so I apologize for any retractions or missteps.
A&M IS NOT A RUMOR- football rules - winning SEC in track really hard now-
Only A&M has accepted and also the Mizzou AD denied the move.
We don't want A&M or FSU they'd be our conferences new bitches. We don't need Clemson either. Mizzou is fine I guess.
Instead give us UT, Virginia Tech, and UO. We'll get rid of Kentucky.
How likely is it that Clemson will go, if you don't mind me asking?
Guys, hey guys listen.
I have an idea that...hey guys listen...i have an idea.
Why don't we...listen guys...why don't we put every single...stay with me guys...every single D1 team in a giant conference.
It makes so much sense it's not even funny.
A&M is done deal. FSU will be done soon. SEC wants two more: Clemson and Mizzou are the targets. Then, Louisville.
Mizzou does not like the division it will have to enter into if it joins.
sorry that sentence should have read "Louisville then Oklahoma."
Actually if we got TAMU, FSU, and OSU. That could be interesting in terms of track/xc
TAMU and SEC is not a done deal yet. It will probably happen, but it's not a done deal yet. TAMU has a contract with the Big 12. Also, there is a chance the SEC teams vote against TAMU joining. Not necessarily against TAMU, but against some of the others on the table joining. Yes, the TAMU bd of regents are meeting early about this, SEC commissh and TAMU have been talking for wweeks, and the SEC teams are going to vote on this. But it's not a done deal yet.
No other teams are for certain. If TAMU does join the SEC, the rest of the Big 12 teams and the other conferences will act face to secure their own interests.
T.L., the SEC's moves are driven as much by academics as athletics. A&M, Clemson, FSU and Missouri are consistently ranked in the Top 100 schools. Currently, only 5 SEC schools are and the Miss. schools are third tier.
The four target schools fit the SEC's expansion model: academically sound, mid-tier football strength and well rounded athletics.
It just happens that they may make the most ridiculous track conference.
Funny thing is that Texas, their new Longhorn Network, and their ego can be their own conference of one.
FSU likely is not moving to the SEC, at least not in the immediate future.

That press release should tell you the exact opposite.

Yup, call it the NCAA++. The top 16 teams could --gag on the near thought-- play in a four round playoff series.
For T&F you invent a four meet championship series. Most points earned overall earns a national championship. Fastest, farthest, highest, at any of the meets earns a best performance champion award.

So you're saying TAMU should play with themselves?
