If you are hurt and are not running up to your full potential, or not running at all, please don't jeopardize the USA and take a spot on the team. There are healthy and willing athletes ready to perform at their best, let them do so.

No one else in the 5k has A standard, so Molly not running wouldn't take anyone out of the mix. Unless davila gets it in London, or Rhines even (would she double?).
But a hurt goucher in place of a healthy davila (or even Lewy-Boulet if davila makes the 5k?) in the 10k would be a shame.
Davila is the only other athlete with the A standard. I doubt that Kara is going to step aside to allow the woman that kicked her ass in Boston a chance to go.
Boulet has B standard. A-A-B goes. This has been discussed at length.
How does a B jump Davila?
I doesn't. I think he meant if Davila made the team in the 5k and chose to run it, then if Goucher pulled out, Boulet would go.
Given the way they ran at nationals, that is a really low probability that Goucher, Huddle, or anyone who might take their places would be in play for medals or really be in a position to affect the race without doing something dumb. This probably isn't worth getting too worked up about.
Molly hasn't run much at all in the last month due to plantar fasciatis (or however you spell it) and Kara is having hip problems. It will be interesting to see who shows up in Daegu.
Deer Kara Goucher...
Please learn how to write LRCbonics.
Molly has already started running again (according to a recent interview with her training partner, Kim Smith). Even with a couple of weeks off, there is no reason to think that someone who has run 14:44 and easily won USATF champs shouldn't be able to run better than someone who hasn't been able to get the A standard.
Given that you can only send one with the B standard anyway, I'm not sure how it's goings to be a problem if she "takes a spot on the team".
Kara might be a different story depending on how serious her hip problem is.

Huh? B's are only good if a country enters a single athlete in an event - unless things have changed. Provide a link to back up A-A-B.
This isn't the Olympics. It has been discussed ad nauseum
