Farah will take it hard from 600m again to get rid of Lagat, but that will play right into Kipchoge's hands who was the only person who looked remotely like they could stay with Bekele when he ripped everyones pants down at Beijing...

He'll be followed by a Kenyan, then Farah.

Ethiopia without Bekele will not be on the podium.

Is Bekele doing the 5k or is he just doing the 10k?

If he's doing the 5k I can't see him outside the top 3 even if he's coming back from injury.

It still blows my mind that people think Rupp will beat Solinsky. Solinsky is better than Rupp at everything on the track. Has Rupp ever actually beat him in a final? Aren't all of Solinsky's prs better? Who beat who in the USA 5k Championships?

if Rupp kicks like he did to beat Merga, he will beat Sol. I have never seen Sol have a kick that looked remotely close to that.

Rupp somewhere 5-8th but wins a medal in the 10k

Can we first all agree that Solinsky will probably not really be in contention for a medal spot? He can't beat Lagat or Farah, so at this point, it is unlikely he'll claim that third spot over Kenya or Ethiopia's best.

I say it's much too early for this post - bring it back 1 week prior to championships once we are clear who the contenders are, and once we understand what other circumstances have changed!

Yes it's early but do we really doubt that Lagat will be ready to go with his A game? Apart from being obv below best in Beijing (when we hear he had achilles problems in the month before) he sure got it together at the right time in Osaka and Berlin. Don't forget this time he isn't running the 1500 before the 5000. I just think he will be ready for anything........and perhaps Farah (who sure has been impressive) might run his best race in the 10,000 and be not quite as strong as Lagat in the 5,000.

Where are you people ?!?! When was the last time you saw Lagat out-sprint another Afro-American athlete ?!?! If he keeps putting everything till last 100m he won't win in Daegu... or ever against world-class competition. Calling it like it is....

How about Pre 2-Mile that was a decent last 200. In NY Lagat misjudged last lap he let them get too far ahead. Farah was a surprise in Monaco but there were no problems handling Merga, Kipchoge and young star Koech (just like Pre).
