I think he meant run, not jog.
I think he'll definitely run again. He may not be running now but I think these next two years will be pretty successful. 2007 was the best year of his running career so far, so was 2001, but I think 2012 will be even better. This year will be more of a get there type of year. I bet that he'll run a mile time of 3:53-3:55 this year, sub 3:40 1500m, and do pretty well in cross country. Next year however he'll probably end up breaking his indoor record, getting 3:52-4, then the drake relays record, running at least 3:50, and then by July of 2012 he'll probably run a 3:45 mile time, again breaking the American record, then a 3:28 1500m time or faster, and a sub 13:00 5k.
You don't make any sense. First thing I advice you to do is learn grammar and english. Second thing I state is that Webb is done. If he's not running then what makes you think he'll magically appear out of blue and run magical times? Frankly you're an idiot.

Like Tyson Gay, I think Webb has, and should have, his sights set on London, not this year. And like Tyson, Alan needs to get healthy first, and that should be the first priority.
Both of them need to have a full general prep cycle before they start thinking about racing again.
Alan likely has one shot left at the Olympics. Racing now, maybe getting injured or injured more, would likely blow the chance. It is hard enough to adapt to a new system in one year. He needs a full training cycle under his belt.

I wasn't asking for your opinion doushbag! First of all, I was stating my own opinion and I have hopes for the man. Second of all, how the hell do you know he's not going to do great again? :
feeling confused?
I agree. Nobody knows if he will run AR's or miss the rest of his career with injury, but everyone is entitled to his own opinion. What I do know is that people on LR pay wayyy too much attention to recent race results and jump on and off the bandwagon constantly. Webb has had some injuries and hasn't been able to race 100% in a few years. This does NOT mean he is done forever as most of LR would think. People don't realize that he has done some very good training the past few years but just hasn't been able to get a healthy race in.
I don't know how he will do in 2011/2012 but I know there is no reason to think he will not challenge U.S's top milers. By no means is he too old (plus he is fresh off a few down years). He is still incredibly talented and should be close to PR's in 2012 if healthy.
I have no idea about 2011, but I predict he come out strong in 2012. 3:29 1500m if he gets in the right place and he makes the US olympic team. If Khadevis Robinson can do it, then Webb can!!
^ this is accurate. Silly people you would think from lagats example that you can see that people can have plenty of time. also he is what the second most talented american runner ever? talent doesnt go away. He'll be back.
He's healthy, but currently in the process of driving across the country, moving back to Virginia. You won't see him racing any time in the near future.

Consider: Rupp beats World XC champs and 7:27 guys closing about 3 secs off that pace in 13:06 race.
So I guess Jim Ryun could still drop a great mile. It's called aging and being burned out/past your peak/prime. Webb wont ever touch his PRs again (and they are great PRs). F'tard.

He is washed up.

-Duuuude, check yourself before calling others out. Wow. Just wow.
i think WEBB should go back to training with Al SAL and move up to 5k and possibly longer stuff and just screw the MILE

WEBB is not even old>? what is he? 28 yrs old?
they were in the specific part of the doping cycle and in heavy training. Come Dajgu, Maarga will close in 53 and dust everyone (except a healthy KB).
Perhaps he will be back to defend his title at the Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot.
Just a few months ago we were talking about this result from Melbourne:
1 Jeffrey Riseley 86 VIS 3:36.71
2 Asbel Kiprop KEN 3:37.63
3 Alan Webb USA 3:37.82
4 Nick Willis NZL 3:38.76
Back then even the more sceptical letsrunners would have thought that at least this time he'd make it as far as nationals.

This right here illustrates the problem.
Funny you should mention Ryun. I remember when he was done. Then he came back to make an Olympic team. No internet, no letsrun experts to talk about how he was finished and should hang em up. Just a couple little articles in the paper and sports illustrated and RW (when it was good) discussing his problems. Lack of motivation, injuries, all written professionally.
No jokes about Taco Bell. No pimply faced nerds who would have a hard time breaking 5:00 in the mile saying he was finished. Professional writers who knew the sport writing facts.
If he is to have a chance at all, he should become an expat, run for a country that pays a lot of money and where he's top dog by far, have fun, take the pressure of his f***ed up mind. It would be like he's 17 again and on top of the HS world (except for Ritz). Do it for Belize!
