This is embarrassing. Let's give Wurth-Thomas the men's spot. She at least went out in 62! They are still behind Christin Wurth at 800. What a bunch of wussies!!!

Wheating looked like CRAP down the stretch. Was paying attention to him and missed Centro winning the race (figured Lagat had it in the bag).
agreed. glad to see wheeting the kicker get beat at his own game.
I was just watching to see if AJ would punch Lopez.
I liked the race. You "sacrificing the gift" retards need to shut up.
This is why track and field is not popular. I understand that it's about being tactical and everything but most people do not. Things you never want to hear during the marquee(last event) of the broadcast:
1) They went out slower than the women....
2)Look how slow it is...
Its a race people, slow does not equal good.
yes maam i run some alot of ti wrote:

Agreed. It was the most exciting race of the championships. A lot of tension built for that final lap.
Going into the final lap I was thinking, "who would win an open 400 in this group" cause that is what it turned in to. 1100 warm up and a running start. Guess I found out!
ALL of the men's races have been slow. The only race that was decent was the 5,000m. The women's races were much more exciting. The women were pushing hard all the way through and showing a lot of courage/heart. Can't say the same for the men's races. Those sit and kick races are a lazy man's game.
Yeah, but the starting positions were not even. Looks like Leer's last lap was faster.
The last 1500 at Western States might be faster. It could be that the first 1100 was faster, too. Ha ha.
I loved the race. A ton of tension. If you have ever run a high level MD race, you had to be on edge. CWT is an idiot. Anyone can go out too hard and totally blow up. The best measure the race up to win it. She looked like a first time JV runner.
Top three are fine but #4 and beyond look pretty stupid if they planned on moving on to world's. Even lagat didn't let the front runner get too far out! Smart race if you are one of the three going to world's.
at least in the 1500 you only have to suffer through 3 slow laps to get to the meat of the race. in the 5 and 10k they parade around forever before racing.
how bout we just take out the first 1100m of the 1500m and tell the guys to sprint from there. oh wait....
The Men's NCAA basketball final was close this year but both teams shot worse than their female counterparts. Did you find that exciting as well?
The guys that were ready to roll (Torrence) let guys that were not yet in peak form (Manzano, Ulrey) off the hook and into the race.
This sport is RACING. They don't go out there to run and have fun, you tard. Nobody cares about anybody, but a winner. Centro won. He dominated lagat. I don't care if Lagat ran three races, or that he's kenyan, or doping, or the second fastest man ever. I honestly could not give a rats ass because in the end what has happened in the past doesn't effing matter. Centro just proved that he is the best today. Do I need to list the guys that he BLEW by on the straightaway? He just gave a finger to all of the haters. He can "slit his throat" any day he comes out and wins the US Championships.
..... in 3:47, a slow college time, yes he won.
CENTROCITY FOR THE WIN... called it.
