Wait no... that's still Coburn 80 meters in front of Garcia.
where did that even come from?

Coburn is good because "she has a high center of gravity."
What does that even mean?

I thought he was referring to Garcia. Can only assume he was staring at her chest, but since she wasn't on screen maybe he wasn't even watching the race.
The announcing at these championships is inexplicable. I was enjoying this race, having watched Stephanie Garcia in high school and of course having no idea should would end up second in the NCAA's - always nice to see young people actualize. And then the stupid comments - this is why the sport is in trouble - even hardcore aficionados such as me get turned off.
they don't give a sh*t, there is no shame, no accountability, no pride in their work, simply a pay day for them, nothing more.
Poor Larry has finally lost it. She finally drove him crazy too.
I think it's 4:20 in Larryville. "Higher center of gravity" was supposed to mean that taller people jump hurdles easier, but he coulda just said that.
There was also the rule he went out of his way to point out during the 1500's I think. Saying top 8 gets All-America, not including foreigners, so "you could finish 11th with three foreigners ahead of you and still earn All-America status"
I'm pretty sure that hasn't been the rule in a few years.
That rule just changed this year. Now you go deeper to get 1st and 2nd team All-Americans.

Yeah, I knew about the rule change this year. 1st and 2nd team (and whatever they're calling the final 8 qualifiers), but he was still trying to talk like foreigners are taken out of the equation, which is flat out false.
...said Barringer was all by herself in the steeple. He forgot about Willard (Pierce)
It means that her belly is higher up than average.... which is good for runners, who benefit from longer legs.
For swimmers for instance, lower bellies are better since they benefit from longer torsos
I'm still trying to figure out how Larry Rawson and Carol Lewis still get work as track broadcasters. I find it hard to believe that they are some of the best around and need to be put on television because of their brilliance. Is the issue that nobody else with a decent track background wants to do it? That's a serious question.
Watching the meet online on Friday was just a brutal experience. I became convinced that Larry was senile.
Larry Rawson goofed:
And look at Garcia overtake Coburn!
Who knows what happened there or which race he was watching? Maybe he dropped his hamburger under the desk and was looking for it for 30 seconds, then re-joined the action, saw Garcia ahead of the next runner and never noticed Coburn was a good ways in front.
I think I only heard the "leg turnover" line once, which is an improvement of sorts, but I did find it odd when he remarked that Coburn is "120 pounds tall."
The folks at NBC are no talent a@@ clowns without even the slightest understanding of track and field.
Did Carol say that?

Coburn is a little hottie huh
Nah playa I said it
How about their love-fest of Oregon and Jordan Hasay? How many other 8th place finishers did Dan O'Brien interview after a race?
