Solinsky did not outkick Rupp. Solinsky destroyed Rupp with a display of strength which Rupp could not match...Sorry boys, Rupp would NOT have won that race anyway, as he led for no more than 7 laps.

Rupp is not half the man Solinsky is. There is no comparison.
I say with a double Breathe-Rite strip and some secret design Nike Compression Socks, Rupp can break the AR. Assuming the pollen count is within tolerable levels, and the temperature/humidity profile makes it safe for him to run.

You're correct. He's probably 100 percent the man Solinsky is. However, you're probably less than half the man Rupp is. Oh, the plight of the internet tough guy!

Why are they still whining about Rupp's tactics last year? Rupp didn't think any American had the right to beat him last year, and it was enjoyable to see him defeated that way.
Weird that folks still get on Rupp's case for this nonsense. Rupp has proven himself willing to race anyone at any distance. He has been consistent and tough. Seems like the only complaints folks can still have about him is he is not the best in the world (not a whole lot of folks are) or they don't like the way he looks (if that matters to you this is probably the wrong sport to follow - may I suggest that you would be better off following the latest fashion trends and runway models).
The guy is married to an absolute angel, and good for him. That's the only reason I am jealous of him. He seems like a great guy.

And don't forget the Rupp-Certified track.

I don't care what he looks like. I won't call him RupPaul or anything like that. I even admire his talent, but don't tell me he is the most tenacious competitor. He ALWAYS has some excuse and some b.s. device to help him. A true man does not need all these accoutrements. Therefore, I am not surprised that he is not admired as much as he would otherwise be.

Oh yea...people who run 27:10 and make excuses for their performance aren't tenacious competitors...you are an idiot. If anything that defines a tenacious competitor. The guy ran what would have been teh fastest 10k ever by an American and still wasn't happy with it. If he wasn't a tenancious competitor he would have been elated, on cloud 9.

Well, actually it defines an alibi-embracing, crutch grabbing wussy boy and you cannot handle the truth. For those of us who know what it's like to battle in the arena, we KNOW who has guts and who doesn't.
It'll be funny to see haters try to accept it when Rupp is the best American Distance runner of all time after he's all done. With his consistent training, consistent coaching, and many injury free seasons being one of the best, I wouldn't be surprised if he's not getting beat by Americans anymore. Will he break 27 in Eugene this weekend? Probably not, but he won't blow up during the race or after the race about it. Him and Salazar have it figured out.

I don't hate Rupp. I admire him as a 27:10 10,000 meter runner, but as far as how he operates, no, I don't admire that and it is clear he is not going to be the the best American distance runner of all time. No chance.
Salazar said: "But we don’t want to make the mistakes of last year, going out after times. ... Doing that last year set him up to have a bunch of people sit on him and out-kick him at the end."
Oh, poor babies...I am so tired of that wimp Rupp. He will NOT break 27. He does NOT have the heart of a champion. Salazar may have had the heart of a champion, but now he sounds like a whining wimp...
No, jesse was a friend, you're the wimp. Rupp may not break 27. But I guarantee he'll give it a good shot. And he will make the national team in three weeks. And he will go to worlds.
I just get sick of Rupp's whiny antics as well. Come on now I get allergies too, and you know what i do, suck it the f*** up. I could never in a million years imagine dropping out of a big race because of "allergies". Also, he was crushed by Solinsky, and thats that, Rupp was clearly the inferior runner and it has continued to show. The fact that he bitches about this is incredibly annoying. So these two things combined make Rupp seem like the whiny wimpy boy he is, thus why he will never be considered a man and why America will never be proud to have him as their runner.
You may be correct that he won't be the best American distance runner of all time, but he will be amongst the top few. Actually, I'd love to see him break all the American records, and then watch as all the LR jerks continue to moan and whine about him. Jerks and idiots come up bushels, runners with the talent of Galen Rupp are rare.

Don't compare your sniffles to the genuine medical condition G. Rupp has and Jim Ryun had. Oh, yeah, he was "crushed" by Solinsky in a dinky local invite after Solinsky cowardly sat on him during a pre-announced record attempt, the guy he beat off the World Indoor team, the only thing that mattered for the year.

Solinsky had NEVER raced 10,000 meters on the track before and he broke the American record. How is that cowardly? Solinsky ran a smart race and was the superior athlete that day. When Solinsky bolted with 860 meters to go, he destroyed the field. You got a problem with that?

I'm sorry, since when did World Indoors become important? I can guarentee you Rupp would much rather have broken 27 and run sub 13 multiple times in competetive races than raced at World f***ing Indoors. Solinsky >> Rupp.....for now
