Trick or tweet...
I can't believe that things happening on twitter are now national news. What a waste of time
Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. Weiner. Classic!
It's looking more & more like it was probably really Weiner's weiner.
We're getting to the point that this is a major feature of American politics. Bob Packwood, Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich, Bob Livingston, Larry Craig, Mark Foley, Al Gore, Elliot Spitzer, John Edwards....
A couple of results are a) dumbing down of political discourse and a distraction from real issues; b) few good people are willing to run for office anymore.
-During that exchange, Weiner called CNN Senior Congressional Producer Ted Barrett a "jackass" when Barrett pressed Weiner-
Don't touch the weiner!

Weiner said: "I cannot say with certitude" (that this is not my weiner).

What does he mean? Does he have a bunch of photos of his crotch wearing different underwear so he can't remember? Did somebody photoshop spurious underwear onto his crotch?
I can say with certitude that there are no pictures of my underwear-clad crotch in existence and I bet most people can say the same.
Speak for yourself, buddy.
Maybe I've led a sheltered life.
This is one Weiner that is going to have to go out to pasture. Stick a fork in Weiner. He will resign soon. You can see his is defensive, nervous and lying.
Edit: You can see he is defensive, nervous and lying.
I have no problem with the photo. He is just in boxer briefs and may or may not have a hard-on. His lewd photo will not keep me awake tonight.

It's fine if you have no problem with the photo. Others will have a problem, but more importantly, his behavior afterwards is what will doom him.
This is the ultimate Dirty Trick, in every sense of that phrase.
I don't want to live in a country where you get this much shit for sending a picture of yourself in boxer briefs.

So are you moving?

As always, it's not the crime but the cover-up.
If he did it, he needs to fess up and endure the public ridicule.
If he did it and lies about it, especially if he gets law enforcement involved and lies about his account being hacked, he's toast.

Great post, I would add dumbing down of the voting public (public in general) as well. But I think you pretty much nailed it here. I don't care if you are republican or democrat as long as you can have a logical conversation about your political beliefs that's fine (I am a conservative but have several Dem friends with different but worthwhile view points and good ideas), but that is becoming rarer and rarer, both among the general populace and among politicians themselves (Sarah Palin I am talking about you). God help our country we are on a slippery slope.
Most importantly, what helicopter pilot in the world would let this guy on his ride? God those things are dangerous enough the way it is..without 350 added pounds aboard.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
