Week 305
*************************
Greetings, 50+er's! Recouped some of my running this week. Still wrestling with getting to bed early enough, as our cat insists that I get up prior to 6am. You'd think that would mean I could get my runs in early, but my body has not been cooperating with morning running of late. Takes me too long to get going. OK, enough grousing; managed 26.4 miles on 6 days and 7-ish runs. Log reads as such:
Sun: off
Mon: 3.0 easy-to-moderate (7:26/mi avg) w/light pack
Tue: 5.2 w/6x(lap on, lap off) (~91s on, ~2:10 off)
Wed: 4.1--2.1am w/hvy pack (8:02/mi),2.0pm some w/pack (7:36/mi)
Thu: 4.0 easyish (7:34/mi)
Fri: 5.2 mild progression 8->7 (7:31/mi avg)
Sat: 5.0 easy (8:10/mi) w/4 on chip-trail/grass
Mon. and Wed. were commute runs. The morning pack on Wed. @16-lbs was particularly heavy for me. Happy with the rust-buster track workout on Tuesday. The actual "lap on" splits were (91,92,91,93,89,89). Probably should have run some more easy miles, definitely need to get some longer runs in, hopefully will get in about 8 today.
Props to all you guys that had awesome races last week. Looks like a lot of folks here are winding into excellent fitness heading into spring racing! Still feeling too undertrained to seriously toe the line, but I'll be out there soon enough...with low expectations.
That's all I've got for this week. I keep hoping that this week will be better than the last and that I can get those long runs in.
All the Best!
