Late to the party....I got home a couple of hours ago from a rather low-key open/masters meet - yet it still had FAT and wind gauges plus certified officials, so it produced legitimate times that allow me to accurately measure my fitness. Sooooo......I'm fit! I ran 60m and 60m hurdles with times that were less than 1 tenth off my age-group AR for both races. Of course this bodes very well for the masters championship meet in NM.
This was my season opener and I have another meet next weekend before the national meet. My coach was pleased and so was I. I'm 3 months out from surgery and have trained on the track for only one month. No rest for the wicked - there will be weight training tomorrow and speed endurance on Tuesday, pool running Wednesday, and hurdle/sprints on Thursday. I'll race on Saturday.
Hope you East Coasters are staying warm!
