A good week running wise, actually hitting my simple goal of 50 kms in 5 runs. A bit short on bike and kayak wise.
Mon. 10 km run in 55 m on flattertrails, juste cruising temps mid 30s C.
Tue. 10 km run in 50 m also on flatter trails, the downhill 7th km in 4.32 and the 10th in 4.35. Warm, 36 deg.
Wed. I had been kicked in the left knee at work the previous day ( and hit in the face with a cup on monday). The knee was ok tuesday but the bruising had come out by Wednesday and it was sore when running.
10.7 km, 2 laps of the Mt Piper circuit finishing each with the steep climb and descent. 1 h 18 m. 350 m of elevation gain, the 2 trips to the top are very steep kmstaking around 11 mins. Pretty slow jogging pace, temps mid 30s but plenty of shade.
30 min paddle on the river.
Thu. 23 km mtb ride on easy trails130 m of elevation gain, temp 38 deg C.
35 min paddle on the lake.
Fri. 22 km mtb on easy trails 150 m of elevation gain, beating the heat low 30s.
Sat. 10 km run early on the trails of the Knowsley Forest 52 m on easy terrain, 4.57 and 4.45 the last 2 km. 36 at the start 38 by the end. Reached 42 in the afternoon, that is around 110 F I think.
Sun. Short ride in the morning around town.
Waited for the cool change then up into the hills of Tooborac for a nice 10.1 km
hilly run on the perfect soft dirt road of the Tooby -Baynton Rd. 55 m 230 m of
elevation gain. A good rhythm run on the long hills. 3 hills 1st uphill is 500 m
2d one is 2.5 km and the 3d a steeper 2 km.
The injuries seem to be on standby rather than active. Just trying to get the legs used to steady running on flatter terrain. So far so good.
Hope you all have an enjoyable week, I actually get Christmas day off this year so we will be celebrating with the family at my home in Heathcote. A cooler week is forecast, 33 deg C for the 25 th.
