A disrupted sort of week.
Mon. Easy 10 km jog.
Tue. 18.7 km run with 750 m of elevation gain enroute on a very muddy course in 2 h 5 m. Had planned to continue around for about 23 km but ran out of legs at the top of a hill so turned around and cut it short.
Wed. Nothing.
Thu. 50 mins kayak.
Fri. 90 mins mountain bike.
Sat. 5 km jog, a few strides, 5.2 km flat forest race in a slow 22.01, 2 km jog.
Went out a bit later and ran another slow 5 km.
Sun. 5 km hilly trail jog, 4 x 100 m strides, 5.1 km hilly trail race in 22.30, then a solid 5 km run around the course in reverse in 25 m.
Neither race was very impressive but happy to just get some harder kms into the legs. Tuesday was an opportunity to visit an old favourite beast of a trail loop in a great location. Trying to run the 23 kms (850 m of elev. gain) was a bit ambitious with my current level of fitness particularly in heavy rain and thick mud. I was still feeling the long steep downhills on the weekend which might explain the slower than expected times.
