That is unbelievable.
How do I get in touch with whoever took that photo? I want to get permission to use it. It should be "Quote of the day" or something unreal.
If you know who took the picture or who I can contact about it, please email me at

Kid will be one hell of a soapball player. Agreed Wetmore Disciple?
Yeah he will, how about nazi rojo deleting our thread?
That's the third or fourth time this year the kid has dove at the line...
Here's the full race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Pk-YkRTHAM&feature=player_embedded
It was one of the funner things I've done since breaking 16 in the 5k senior year in high school, so I'm a little disappointed it was deleted.
It was a good time. Now im going to go laugh (cry) myself to sleep.
Here's an almost identical one: Zachary Torres dives to tie for 15th with Dylan Sorensen at FLCC.

In the end, they both were awarded All-American (top 15).
That's an awesome picture.
Dude's e-mail from the website that took the picture is
Does diving at the end of a race actually help at all?
What was great was thinking Doughty might be hurt then his pounding the track in frustration after he realized he lost.
The video is one of the coolest I've ever seen.
I've always wondered if diving ever worked... love the photos!
So the diver got 2nd? That kind of takes away from the awesomeness, does it not? I'm not sure that diving helps at all, but i guess it shows the guy has some stones at the very least.
No, of course diving does not work, its not when your hands/ arm or head cross the line, its when your chest crosses the line, diving will actually hinder you more often than not. Amazing that this is not common knowledge, I just always assumed it was.
