Yow. He's run under 10.5 FIVE times this year. A sophomore? Are you kidding me? Did he get held back 2 years?
YIKES.

Was the 10.35 handtimed or windaided?
This guy is legit I am on his Track Team and have seen him race many times. He is phenomenal.
Is he a whitey?

Is he the traditional age of a sophomore? I don't want to hear about another Cheserek.
Don't know about his age, but he is a HUGE dude. Looks 20.

Yeah, I've heard Cheserek is close to if not 20, yet everyone squawks about Lukas who's taking early graduation, so he's really no older than most seniors. What a bunch of PC candy asses.

FAT and probably not wind aided (NWI, like pretty much every meet in the Northwest aside from the state championships or maybe three invitationals)
He did run at one of those select few invitationals earlier this year, running 10.43 with a +0.9 tailwind back in mid April.
He's good, but I don't know why anyone would really be questioning whether it's all legit... he's not even top-5 for a sophomore wind-legal or NWI, and he may or may not end up as good as Marvin Bracy even (who ran 10.19 as a soph BTW, but that was wind-aided @ +2.8), we'll have to wait and see how he develops.
Saw the dude run this "10.35" and I cry BS. I and a half-dozen others had hand times of 10.3. I think they are starting the races by pressing a button and not using a scope. I know the auto-timing in all his meets has been the cheap version, no relation to Finish Lynx. No real wind so that wasn't an issue.
Not sure why some posters asked if he was white, there are many blacks living in Oregon
He has some serious mechanical flaws that will prevent him from running any faster until they are fixed and are contributing to his hammies hurting as his coach has said they have.
He is very developed compared to others and in a recent article he states he expects to fill out at 6-1 and 225 pounds! I see him as a talented football player but his potential in track will be limited by that size.
Kid's legit. Obviously, if he can stay healthy and chooses track over football, he has a good chance of developing into a world class talent. He seems to have a great head on his shoulders.

Marvin Bracy ran 10.19 last year at the Florida state meet as a soph.. just sayin.

What are you talking about when you say "a scope"? Are you talking about pyro flash? That's the least reliable "FAT" I have ever seen.
So the kid is really 10.54 when you convert from your hand time. He's still pretty damn good.
You can call BS all you want, but there doesn't seem to be BS that he ran 10.5 last year, and this year has run 10.47, 10.43, 10.43, 10.38, 10.35
He is legit, and hasnt had one ridiculous time surrounded by slower races. His consistency shows it isnt BS, and he has stated his plans to race into the summer to make the Junior World Champs. So if he stays healthy through then, you will see him hitting these times, and maybe even another PB. Atleast he seems to appreciate and love track as much as football, rather than being a football player who says "I do track just for a speed workout for football".
that's good. There is a freshman in Florida who won the 3A 200 and was 2nd in the 100m. Kendall Williams is a legit 9th grader. here is flrunners.com bio

He has prs this year of 10.46 and 21.40.

Yes, FlashTiming is a new "cheap" version of F.A.T... it's not FinishLynx, but that doesn't make it illegitimate: it meets all NFHS and NCAA requirements. And since he has run in meets with FinishLynx as the primary timing system as well, it's hard to make a case against marks from the FlashTiming system.
Video says he just turned 16. Speedy!
I don't know about all the previous races but I can tell you that at district he ran 10.3 on several watches hand-timed. Is Tyner a talent yeah but if this race was really a new state record you would think it would be put up on youtube for all to see.
Go to youtube and time his "10.38" and you can't see smoke so you have to go off movement but with that its a 10.1 hand-time and then you have to add at least .1 and more likely .15 or .20 (average of "elite" sprinters for reaction time is about .18 and then add the standard .24 for hand to auto conversion and you are at best looking at 10.49 and more likely a 10.54. Still very good for a soph but he is no ordinary soph.
The question is how fast will he be when he puts weight on as he says he is expected to do. Other thing is he won't get much faster with the current technique.
Much will be answered this weekend at the Oregon state meet where he will race with a tried and true timing system.
Thanks for the video links.
I hope someone will post vids &/or updates after the state meet.
