Very anxiously awaiting the next post!!! Ahhhhh. It's been three days now. Everytime there is a lapse in between posts, I get really afraid that she's stopped posting :( I have become so invested in this story! I know what it is like to have an eating disorder in this sport. |

I have really enjoyed reading this blog and can't imagine growing up with parents such as hers but... She seems to be trying pretty hard for pity points in the most recent post. Most runners have experienced blisters and most college students know what it's like to be out to eat on a budget. |

Yes! New post! Any guesses as to what the last sentence is foreshadowing? I immediately thought something to do with a horrible binge episode. |
| not sure :- |

i'm really afraid it's going involve boys in not-so-pleasant-or-sexy way... And actually guys, we've all had blisters, but I don't think you understand how bad girl blisters in girl shoes can be...I'm nervous about her injuring something else or this somehow getting back to her coach. Sometimes I'm not sure why I even read this blog, it just makes me really nervous/feel so bad for her.... |

I get the feeling that this Jennifer character is more sinister than she appears. |

Time for the hookup with the rehabbing football player. |

"I assured myself that once I returned from the bathroom, Jennifer and I would pay the bill and head home, where I could soak my foot in a warm bath for an hour. Little did I know, my roommate had other plans in mind." Roommate could dine and dash, roommate could come on to her, they could end up at a party with roomie's insane friends, they could just end up at a bar and get sloppy drunk (with all the possible outcomes that follow). Either way, it's clear that the roommate has something specific in mind. |

uhhhh i took it as she wouldnt be able to soak her foot in the bathtub because her roommate would be puking up the dinner all night...not really foreshadowing anything, just referring to what typically happens when her roommate eats a ton... |

Gonna go with "no." I reckon maybe it's setting up more body image stuff with Jennifer? I really did think there was gonna be some goofball sex-fest that they regretted the next morning, though. |

Why is it that this thread is allowed to thrive while the Heather Utrata thread was crushed with an iron fist? |

Even doing a speed read of this blog, makes my brain bleed. Then it said < |

How are the two blogs comparable? This blog is an interesting story (whether it is true or not) about what can and does happen in a DI women's cross country program. She has horrible parents and a horrible coach. The Heather Utrata blog is about Heather, Heather, Heather. What kind of magazine is Heather in, what small race has she won, what road race didn't think she was good enough to fly her out there, etc. |

Maybe this has been noted already, but to all those squawking about male coaches not understanding the mentality of female runners with regard to certain things, nowhere in the blog is the sex of the coach specified. The language is intentionally nonspecific on this point. |

Wow, can't believe I read through this whole blog. Hopefully this is fiction. I don't recall reading a single positive thought or image about anyone or anything in this whole account. Not even any joy or curiosity anout any classes or non-running college experiences? This person's small closed universe is bitter and tortured. If this is for real, hopefully this young woman will find a happier path in life. Life's way to short to spend it like this. |
