My response is that I already responded, not the same thing. So I can either type it 1000 times and you can read each one of them once. Or you can go ahead and read what I typed just one time, 1000 times. So I choose the latter one because it is easier for me to just toss a pebble in the lake, and the ripples go in every direction. Maybe you prefer a dump truck dumping garbage and bolders in the lake, this way you can bury the Canova ideas and somehow BINGO they change into vdot Daniels and At whatever crazy thing you want to change them into, which is something else but not the original. So I already said this and I don't need to write 8 pages to try to twist it and change it to something totally different. See. So I'm not going argue about something so stupid. You are welcome to think what you want to think, and change it to whatever you wish it to be. |

Honestly I have no idea what you're talking about J.R. You say North Star is twisting ideas, when in fact he is quoting the man directly. If anyone is confused about Canova's training here, it is you. You did not seem to recall him using terms that he did in fact use. Give us a concrete example of where North Star has contradicted a Canova post, or STFU. "...I want to see Canova principles, not some totally different interpretation..." - where did that come from, he is using verbatim citations! |

one should be careful, when applying Canova's training. he has stated several times that some of his workouts and methodology often isn't effective for many runners, as he focuses on training elite's who have years of huge aerobic foundation. |

Oh yeah, I'm confused because I get Canova principles directly from Canova hehehe. Whatever. If you want to waste your time with a bunch of mumbo jumbo then that is certainly your perogative to do so. |

Ding ding ding. That's what I get too. Do something like Lydiard or Hadd or Daniels for a few years, and if you're any good, he'll add the furniture to your aerobic house. JR doesn't want to compare Daniels to Canova, so let me contrast them. To me, one main difference is that Daniels defines a bunch of training paces relative to your race times, around some physiological (or pseudo-physiological if you prefer) parameters, somewhat regardless of your main event. He defines 5 paces which have a different physiological emphasis. Whereas Canova pays more attention to your main event, and defines 7 (or so) narrow training paces to work in slightly different aspects required for racing, and everything is geared to supporting these paces.
