this is probably a not so great place to post this question...but i'm gonna just take a chance and do it anyways.
i'm a 23 yo female, 5'2'' and weigh about 115 lbs.
i've never been one of those girls that has had that natural runner's physique (ie. the "little boy" body - you know, the girls w/ no hips, no curves etc) - in other words, i've always had a bigger butt, i've got muffin tops, etc. i'm pear-shaped (i have fat around my middle and butt and thighs, but my upper body and bust is pretty small). and, for some reason, the more i run, the more my breasts seem to disappear but that part of my body seems to be the only place that loses weight...which i guess is weird.
i've literally shrunk down to smaller than a 32A but my butt is still big which sucks.
i'm a beginner runner (i've been running for many years but never seriously - i'm coming off of an injury right now so i'm running about 30 miles a week, 6x a week).
i love running and it's becoming a daily, necessary ritual that i cannot conceive of forgoing.
hopefully, one day i'll run a half marathon and later a marathon, but at this point, i'm taking baby steps and trying to simultaneously ease into building up my mileage while also avoiding injury.
so here's my point:
i feel like a whale.
i recently broke up with an abusive bf (a runner - who ironically has ballooned up himself) who pretty much brain washed me into thinking i'm the size of a house (i'm a size 2 - i know i'm not massive but i certainly feel massive).
i want to lose weight.
i certainly don't have a terrible diet but i also eat a lot of bready/grainy carbs (which i know is probably not so great).
for about 3 months i was not eating meat, but i've been eating meat lately.
how can i lose weight?
how do you guys slim down?
i feel like this is a hopeless battle.
i know weight will come off with bumping up mileage and building up the intensity of my workouts and such, but i also wanted to get some other perspectives from you guys.
are there any books that you've read that you've found to be insightful?
any info/ideas/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
also, i went to the Payton Jordan Invit this last weekend.
it was my first time seeing elite runners run (in person).
it was so inspiring/amazing/over whelming/beautiful.
i saw ryan hall there socializing, and i saw shalane flanagan race. it was probably the coolest thing i've ever seen in my life.
sorry for all this unnecessary info - i just had to share.
