I don't know why the would put Bernard Lagat on the opening leg when he is training for the 5000m and still the best 1500m runner in the country. Bernard hands off 1st in a very good 1200m leg, the 400m runners keeps the lead, Duane Solomon run a impressive 1:46, only to hand off to Russell Brown in the lead and have him run down by 2 teams.
Russell Brown is good national runner but he wasn't the best 1500m/miler on the USA distance medley and should have had him on the 1200m leg and Bernard Lagat anchoring, thought we had it won til Brown's leg. He's run 3:35 already this year and he should have been able to at least run 3:56 flat which would have easily held off Morocco's 3:53 closer.
