Awesome race...couldn't have asked for better finish. Flyin!
1 Virginia 7:12.15 Brett Johnson (1:50.97), Lance Roller (1:48.14), Anthony Kostelac (1:47.06), Robby Andrews (1:46.00) AA
2 Penn State 7:12.90 Lionel Williams (1:50.70), Samuel Borchers (1:47.56), Ryan Foster (1:47.96), Casimir Loxsom (1:46.70)
Kostelac and Borchers ran out of their skulls
Borchers has shown nothing like this , really since his frosh year when he looked to be on track to stardom. His talent is so very clear.
Kostelac is a horror show for a frosh, but kind of knew he would be.
Nobody closes like Robby Andrews , not at Penn anyway.
This was his 4th race in past 7 months,it is scary how good he has gotten on three weeks since 1:49.x loss.
Great efforts by both teams as UVA goes to number 2 all time at Penn and PSU #6.
Yeah, Borchers came up big for Penn State.
Can't believe thats NOT a school record for PSU.
Looking at the top times, these are the #2 and #3 times at the relays. Did anyone see the race in 1982? That must have been a sick race.
7:12.29 Villanova 1982
7:12.62 Georgetown 1982
7:12.81 Richmond 1982
7:13.48 Arkansas 1982
How far back was Andrews when he got the baton?

He was in the lead.
Thanks, I don't want to do the math.
The math is not hard.
UVA won by .75
Robby Andrews' leg was .70 faster than Loxosmrmis.
He got it .05 ahead.

It's actually #2 and #6
7:11.17 Penn State 1985
7:12.15 Virginia 2011
7:12.29 Villanova 1982
7:12.62 Georgetown 1982

7:12.90 Penn State 2011
UVA is the best university in the world.
They were really good in the dMR, the only race anyone cares about.
Vig owns this sh!t
FloFlo and Vig are tight like whoh.
And none of the legs are seniors...they have to be looking at taking a couple titles for next year.
Loxsom took over and was really pushing on the second lap.
It looked like Andrews was digging in just to keep contact.
Still a bit of a gap with 200 to go.
Coming off of the final turn, Andrews dug in from somewhere very deep to hammer the homestretch and win while the crowd was going crazy.
Andrews had a big smile after the race but he was staggering and needed help standing up. He took a while to recover and was hunched over for a bit.
He didn't look like he was in 1:46 shape but managed to will the race and disregard what his body was telling him.
Robby Andrews is a fierce competitor.

PR Penn State 7:11.17 1985 Vance Watson (1:49.3), Steve Shisler (1:47.9), Chris Mills (1:48.5), Randy Moore (1:45.5)
As a proud alum of PSU, I would be remiss at not pointing out that PSU holds the record. I watched them as a HS Frosh run this time and remembered thinking what bada$$es they were.
Where can I find a video of the race?
The last leg and Andrews' kick is on Flotrack, http://www.flotrack.org/article/6089-Robby-Andrews-14600-to-lead-UVA
andrews was down on the infield for awhile. 1x after the race. another after they stepped off the awards stand.
