Well perhaps I shouldn't use the words "official" until Webb says it himself but Steve Nearman the guy who wrote the article used to write for the Washington Times and has sources close to Webb and broke the story about Webb turning pro and leaving the University of Michigan.
The article said that he would have to become an assistant or graduate assistant to train with Robby Andrews. So he may not train with Robby, officially that is.
graduate student*
Robbie Andrew just pooped his pants!
Webb is going to eat Andrews alive on the track. cant see how he will push Webb in any way shape or form.
It's not a race everyday man.
This will be great for both of them, Andrews can use some of the racing experience Webb has and it will certainly improve a lot, and Webb will benefit from training with MD guys again, and fast ones, it's a win win.
Didn't Webb run 3:53 when Andrews was 11 years old or something?

I sure hope none of Webb's savvy "racing experience" rubs off on Robbie Andrews.
Will Webb be racing in the Ragged Mountain Running Shop singlet?
I feel terrible for Robby Andrews about this item if true. Head case Webb to infect him...a shame.
In my opinion, Vigilante is the premier mid-d coach in the country right now. Good for Webb in choosing him.I doubt Andrews and Webb will be doing a lot of intervals together, given that Andrews is more of a pure 800m guy right now.
My thinking is that Vigilante might "use" Webb with long term of helping Andrews make the switch to the mile/1500m. After all - Andrews is gonna need someone to sneak up on in the last 100m of workouts.
Cool!
Andrews seems to have a good head on his shoulder. he definitely doesn't need a super headcase like Webb to potentially make an unbearable training environment at UVA.
I'm not surprised by this decision. His wife Julia had actually lived Charlottesville for a time right after college: http://www2.dailyprogress.com/news/cdp-news-local/2008/may/27/olympic_hopeful_running_down_steeplechase-ar-76905/. So I'm sure his decision was made easier with that.
Julia Webb, Alan's wife has written and said, "Just wanted to give you a heads up that the story is definitely not true.. we are still looking at the options. No decisions made although Vig still a good option. "
We've got some more quotes from her and will be typing them up.
Seems like Webb needs to be the big man of the program in order to be happy. Probably didn't like being one of many stars in Oregon and didn't want to go with train with Manzano or the other half of OTC for the same reason. But, he has picked a great coach and will have no excuses if he can't get it done at US trials again.
Frankly, I think the big fish/small pond won't work anymore. I also think it is just a way for Webb to put his head in the sand during training instead of having to bring it every day with a group that has tons of talent like both halves of OTC.
haha, mr. obvious, i think you mean ragged mountain racing singlet now...
lots of people to train with there mr. webb. lots
oh and i don't think that webb will be the first headcase that robbies gotta deal with, haha.
Sooooooooooooooo Wejo. Since you started another thread debunking this thread, shouldn't you REMOVE this thread?

What makes you pull something like this out of your ass?
Wow Wejo this a new a low for you. Please do not break news like this with out confirmation. You had absolutely zero sources other than a guy who broke a story about Webb leaving Michigan in 2002, 9 years ago. For someone who manages a very influential website for the track and field world; you have zero integrity and credibility. Please take a journalism ethics class before making false claims again.
