she will be running 1:56 or faster by world champs - looks like its a race for silver
Looks at those arms and shoulders in the picture. I have never seen a girl with an upper body like that. Honestly, I feel bad for anyone who has to race her (well, more like it) at world champs. Very unfair if you ask me.

You mean he who wouldn't be getting out of the heats in a major HS meet.
I'm sorry but that is not a woman
Have you seen Maria Mutola? Or the times that Jelemo ran?
And while doubling to win the 15.

Yeah, it's a tough situation. As a XX female, I wish the IAAF would release the results of the gender testing. I understand and respect the privacy issues, but I'm left wanting some reassurance that Caster's physiological advantages over other women are being addressed. This article indicates that she has internal testes, produces 3X the amount of testosterone of typical women, and lacks a uterus or ovaries.
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2009-09-10/news/17931933_1_caster-semenya-test-results-photo-spreadDoes anyone know if she's taking estrogen supplements? I guess I can't see how that would "neutralize" the musculature that she's already developed because of the testosterone. So, IAAF, I honestly ask how this is fair?
Well I'm glad to see from the photo that she Tuks
One way to get through the test.
so decker's nailed for a 50 pct testosterone/epitesterone ratio or something like that and semena can compete with 3x the testosterone of women??? craziness.
He should be running faster by now!
It is one of the great travesties in track that she is allowed onto a track to compete with women.
I predict that the British gutter press will destroy her before she competes in London 2012. Remember you first heard it here folks,
This board is disgusting. Caster's gender is none of your business. If it is good enough for the arbitrators of the sport, it should be good enough for everyone else. Semenya has faced enough humiliation on the world stage. Leave the issue alone.

In French, travestie means cross-dressing.
Not disgusting. It has already been proven she is not a woman. She has 3X the amount of testosterone atleast in her body, and has male parts, while lacking the female parts which cause women to have cycles. This is a MAN! Not a woman, and his times wouldnt even make him a great HS athlete. Sorry, this shouldnt even be an issue, women have been banned for less proof than this years prior when gender testing transpired more frequently, particularly with sprinters and throwers.
Agreed it should be nobody's business but unfortunately you can't become World Champion without being subjected to some scrutiny regardless of who you are. In the outcry by people who are very keen on "gender issues" what seems to be missed is the rights of her competitors, there seems to be an odd double-standard here.
Why is it disgusting. What is disgusting is that many women work very hard for years, only to have this woman/man straight out of High school destroy them in an 800mCastor is found to have excess testosterone and internal testes. Obviously, this is what made her become a world class runner, very quickly, right out of high school. It is not a coincidence that she happened to have these physiological differences. I have nothing against Castor. It is not her fault. But someone close to her should protect her and give her the proper advice to get out of the sport. She should not use her abnormality to win Olympic golds. The IAAF have been put in a difficult position by Castor and her entourage. They are trying to be politically correct.Another poster is correct that she will be eaten alive by the press and fellow competitors. When this happens, they will only have themselves to blame.

Nobody knows. Because of the privacy issue I do not think anybody will ever know details. More frustrating to me than not knowing the particular status of Ms. Semenya is that the IAAF has no published standards for gender determination. At least if the standards were published we could be sure that she was in accord with them. Know, nobody has any idea.
Does anyone know if she's taking estrogen supplements?
My guess, based on the relatively slow times she's run in the past year, is that Caster had some surgery and/or estrogen supplements as part of the IAAF clearance to begin competing again.
While we are talkeing about what digusts us here:
I am disgusted that the IAAF bows to poltical pressure from a national organisation with - at best - a questionable stake in the whole thing. It shoudl be in all (!) athletes' best interest to not let her in on interntaional competition.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
