IOC adopts "rules" in gender cases...
It would be good if there were clear rules for such gender cases. I believe the "process" with which the Semenya case was handled was not fair to her or to the other competitors. I have searched for this new policy but all I can turn up is links to a 2006 document. Perhaps somebody with better Google-Fu then I have can turn it up. From the article it sounds like they are going to continue to make up the rules as they go along.
It was indicated a couple of years ago that these "rules" were about to forthcoming. I'd like to see more specifics, but maybe they're all going to be "judgment calls."
This is an embarrassment to our sport. Letting a man compete against women is absolutely ridiculous and completely unfair to all the real women who work their asses off. The IOC should have grown a pair(or borrowed semenya's) and done what is right for the sport instead of feeling bad for him and playing by his rules, not nature's. Who cares if he "thinks" he's a chick, he should be put in a psych ward not an Olympic final.

Caster is part female and part male. If it is not fair for her to compete against females because she is part male, then it is also not fair for her to compete against males because he is part female.

Okay, let's be real for a second. It is blatantly obvious that men are superior when it comes to racing 800m, so why should it be fair to allow someone with many qualities of a man to race inferior beings? Not trying to shit on women here but it would be like allowing the Lakers to compete in the WNBA(not that anyone cares about the WNBA). Obviously they would win and rewrite the record books.
Does this open the door for women to have a donor testicle implanted into them so they can match Caster's physiology?

There's really no need for you to be hysterical here with your Lakers' analogy. What did Castor run 2 years ago? 1:56? It would have been a better attempt if you said that it would be like an average HS basketball team playing in the WNBA - which in this case is still a bad analogy what with team dynamics and all.
The easy answer is that anybody (prosthetics excluded?) can compete in the male category but only women can compete against other women.

How do you have enough brain power to tap out that reply?

The situation is not nearly the clear cut. I know it probably makes you sleep easier to believe that it is. Are you okay w/ females w/ AIS competing against other females? I hope so because there is a long history of it.
I just want some written guidelines that are applied consistently, even while admitting that every situation may have unique elements.
The IOC approved this guy to compete against women.

On a board made up of a ton of stupid and naive comments, this one is clearly in the top ten of stupid and naive comments.
