Reminds me of the story from a year and half ago at a cyclo cross event somewhere in New England. A fight broke out between a fan and a team manager. The dudes fell over and knock some bikes over. Some people need to get a life.

Fights at cross country meets are F***ING HILARIOUS. Especially when the runners themselves are involved during the race. I mean its cross country.

In 108th pace out of 111 finishers was a runner from Seychelles named Gaylord Silly. I only noticed because in the video Merga was lapping him as he finished. With a name like that, you can't afford to be running over 40:00 for 12K at a world championship. If I were him I would have also started a fight and gotten myself disqualified.

I take it you are a distance runner, since the technique in the punch was standard to a real punch. Especially for having one foot off the ground and no power to punch through. And it is no joke to start throwing punches that late in a race!

I think your theory holds water.

Initially, I thought that the Eritrean guy clipped Kuma and was trying to help him put his shoe back. What I couldn't understand is why he punched him. They may probably have wrestled before the cameras captured this scene.
