Even in his prime, Dean Karnazes was rarely a contender at the top ultramarathons in the country. But the Bay Area runner continues to be a media darling and the one mainstream face of endurance running.
Karnazes was featured on both “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Live with Regis and Kelly” last week to explain his next running challenge. On Thursday night Karnazes took off from Kimmel’s studio in Los Angeles on a run that will end at Regis and Kelly’s show in New York.
He plans to run about 50 miles per day for 75 days for “Regis and Kelly’s Run Across America.” The goal is to inspire kids to run and be active. Karmanzes also happens to have a new book out, entitled “Run.”
