In reponse to the OP, the only upside to overeating at lunch is that you can recognize what happened and then eat relatively light for dinner. If you eat normally all day then binge at dinner you are taking in far more calories.
It's because it was a dumb question.
Problem: I ate too much.
Answer1: Throw up what you ate.
Answer2: Deal with it and eat a little less the next meal.
Answer3: Deal with it and eat the same amount you usually eat next meal.
What I do when I end up overeating at lunch is Answer2 or Answer3.
