Portland has an indoor track (albeit not a nice one) that surrounds the perimeter of their basketball court. The basketball team was playing U of San Francisco, so UP and USF has a mile duel during half time. Needless to say, it was awesome!

"The meet was scheduled to include ten runners but redshirt freshman Trevor Dunbar had to pull out."
That's what she said.

Cool concept: a single race duel meet.
actually a super common thing in cali...fresno, and a couple of other schools have done this, but during homecoming football game, or another football game. i even believe humboldt state did it many years back with billy mills in the race!great idea, especially in a place like portland with the indoor track around the bball court....the sport needs more stuff like this, in professional arenas..imagine halftime/right after a lakers or clippers game!?you gotta trick people into it, cuz once they watch it they will love it!
