Hi, all.
I have a lot of respect for the Arises and for the incredible program they manage to put together year after year up there in New York. Both men consistently reference the "Stotan" philosophy as being one of the big factors in their group's success. I know on the surface what Stotanism is: Stoic + Spartan life, originally termed by Cerutty and used with his athletes, preaches self-denial, sacrifice, a strong work ethic, etc. I am wondering, however, how the Arises specifically use this philosophy, and what this might entail for high school athletes. If anyone can offer any insight, I would really appreciate it. I am fascinated by this "Stotan" ideal.
