Mo just announced on twitter that he will be making a permanent move with his family to Oregon to train with the OTC's Salazar group. Discuss.

who wouldn't want to leave the uk? Mo is lucky enough to have the chance and he is seizing it. May never go back.

Reckon he'll become a citizen?

He'd have a very good chance of making a US team, as compared to a near-lock to make the GB team. Not to say he won't try to get citizenship anyway.
no way
So does this even it out in our Salazar vs Schumacher discussion in the other thread?
This is a win/win. It's a change of scenery for Mo to hopefully provide some new energy in his training and it's a good opportunity for AlSal to learn about what he was doing in Africa with their elites.

And then not be eligible for international competition for two years at the peak of his career? What a patriot!

Isn't this betraying the vision of the OTC, to get more American medalists?
This decision is like purposefully taking on a handicap.
Who has Sal trained who is better than Mo?

Ritz. Kara Goucher.
If you mean just who has he trained who is better, then Webb as well; if you mean who has he trained who has been better than Farah while under Salazar's tutelage, then the two above but not Webb.
If you mean who has he trained who probably has similar aspirations and likelihood of meeting them, then throw in Rupp as well.
just was wondering how Farah gets to train with a Nike program when he is an adidas athlete? I guess exceptions were made? can anyone elaborate on this?

I see it as helping. I think it will help a guy like Rupp more than it will help Mo to be around him.
It's a really really good question.I don't see Nike making any exceptions here so I wonder if he crossed over in sponsors too.I wish him luck but he said that AlSal can give him full time attention... he's one of the bigger horses in the stable now, but its a big stable.

Yet one more distance athlete in Oregon that has not won an international medal.
