Turns 50 in April and destroys guys almost a decade younger in 8K cross champs. The Greatest Master's XC runner ever (and kills it on track and road as well). |

His belief in the drugs is working quite well for him. |

what this fellow is obviously referring too is pete's consumption of michelob and budweiser, albeit in rather copious quantities....

How is this guy so thick? He definitely doesn't have the typical distance runner build? He looks like he runs about 25 miles a week. |

It worked for all the great Brits of his generation...probably the Aussies too. Beer is the ultimate recovery drink. |

If you are referring to Pete Magill then ya he might appear a little bigger than average but not even close to looking like a 25/week runner. Mr. Magill is quite the inspiration to us fellow masters, ageless and a machine that keeps on going. His life story I recall was extremely interesting that should be made into a movie. |

Why do master runners need inspiration from other master runners? You would think by the time you are 40, you would be self motivated, or your family would be all the inspiration you need. |

What kind of times did he put up 25 yrs. ago? I never heard of him until 2-3 yrs. ago when I saw some of his mind blowing master's results. |

Maybe he wasn't running much 25 years ago. Not everyone who is into running got into when they were 12. Pete is a class guy who is admired by many. |

It's just good to see the possiblilities at that age. When you turn 40,50 it's easy to doubt yourself and lose motivation. I love to run and race, it's great to see others my age running so well. |

I can think of at least one word to describe Magill's performance today: AMAZING!!! It was great fun and highly entertaining to watch on a beautiful, viewer-friendly course today! Magill raced smart, dropping the bomb on the last lap. |
