I have a habit of running faster than I should be during easy runs. I do most of my runs after work and part of it has to do with just wanting to get the run over with. I also find it more enjoyable and interesting to run a bit harder rather just "plodding along". I know that I would only be adding 10-15 minutes to my runs if I were to go slower but this doesn't really help me keep the pace down.
Other than wearing a HRM, does anyone have any tricks or tips to force oneself to run easy during easy runs? I've thought about choosing clothes like a track suit or 100% cotton tops to keep myself from going at a pace that will make me sweat hard. This will probably work in winter but not when the weather gets warmer.
