I Understand It's pretty standard practice for there to be very thorough fact checking before publication, especially in magazine as big as this one. This process can take a fair amount of time even just for smaller more straight forward short paragraphs/notes. For an article detailing a serial marathon cheater, this process is much more extensive...This kind of thing is very time consuming and complex with the craziness and elaborative cheating scheme of the Kip Litton tale.
Even though it's been 18months since Kip last raced (Charlotte ThunderRoad), many of you are aware that he was registered for the 2012 Boston marathon, using Charlotte as a BQ. Many of us including the writer werent sure if he'd be running or not, but the point is you must realize that even as of this past April pieces of this story were still ongoing...I myself doubted there would be any article until the writer (a pretty famous one) first emailed me in Oct or Nov, 2011. I gave him my real name and phone when he emailed soklr@hotmail with a legitimate [real name o magazine].com email address. We've been in contact via phone and email since then.
