Who registered Kip for the three marathons he did not run? Cowtown, Zoom Yah!, and Boston.
Was it one of the LR'ers?

Occam's Razor and simple economics suggests Kip really

Why? There is only one Kip but more than one LR troll; Occam's Razor suggests then that it was a LRer who registered for those races, right?
I'm not defending Kip here, BTW, as the justification for all of his DQs is clear.

I've thought about that too. I think Kip probably registered for Cowtown. I'm pretty sure the other two someone else registered using his name. Why would he run a small indoor marathon? It's not really his m.o. And why would he run Boston after not having run for a couple of years?

If you have an article coming out, the subject of your article won't talk to you, and he hasn't run since Dec 2010, wouldn't you want to create some buzz or try to get him to talk by denying he registered for these races?
-just sayin'
(no, not Kip. just another person who thinks he cheated)
"thinks"
Have you made up races that didn't exist?
Covered your bib as if you don't want to be linked to photos?
Started at the back and miraculously passed people though osmosis?
Came out of nowhere to suddenly be in front of people who you never passed?
HIt mats like a ghost, just enough for it to show you were there in the binary world, without actually physically appearing?
I don't need an article to "think" he did it or to even know how.
I'm not a fool as I know how he did it and it's nothing spectacular, but I couldn't sleep at night as I have a conscience.
Yes, clearly cheated.
How much more evidence is needed. Spineless RD's. If they DQ him, what are his damages for any legal action, his name not showing up in results? Carry on.

Wasn't scotth the one who found out that KL was running Cow Town and Zoom yah????
Scott? I don't think so.

And how would he have paid for it? I don't think he would risk his reputation by using a method that could potentially be traced back to him. All for a small bump of extra interest in the article.
It's highly unlikely that someone paid 150bucks to register kip for the 2012 Boston Marathon. Furthermore KIp I think actually told some people I think that he was going To run it. Why would he do that if someone else registered him?. Wouldnt he have instead told people that he did not register himself? Then of course he did not show up.. He was trying to shake off people from following him probably. That's a way of sending an FU to the writer and all of the letsrun detectives
One thing that is clear is that Kip did not register himself for the Boston University Valentine invitational in the mile- that was some college aged troll having some fun. Same thing with the Princeton invitational in the 1500 m. Hilarious troll seeded Kippy at 4:04 and his entry was accepted.

I don't think it was the writer, but how would someone trace it back to him? I doubt the BAA or any RD would give up (or even retain) that information.

Silly boy. (just to be him to it)
JOKM is so dumb he thinks Scott is SOKLR and that Scott was lying when he said he was doing the article. No, Scott was originally going to do it but the article was handed off to a national writer.
"Silly boy" - ScottH
And you believe Scotth when he says that? Who's the silly boy:)now?
Scotth is a card, I agree, and he peppers most of his comments with a huge dosing of condescending attitude, but who cares about the guy? He's a credit mongrel and again, who cares?
Scott deserves a lot of credit for busting kip. So does Ouch1000 and Wayne Kursh and deadwood staff. Along with DaveB
"Silly boy!!!!"

Actually, scotth was quite late to the game in busting Kip. I'll give him credit that he provided some information during the mid-phase of the fact finding. But he was not there in the beginning.

I think we have very different ideas about what Occam's Razor is.
Trolling is free, registering for races, especially Boston costs money, remember you would be impersonating someone as well. Who would want the potential fallout even if they had money to burn?
