You're wrong...not true at all. The writer is NOT a freelancer -> has worked for this magazine for decades in fact & has published hundreds of articles for it. I don't know where you get this information....[/quote] I got my information with MY correspondence with the writer, not some information from other anonymous posters. You can contact me personally if you want more information. |

why don't you guys just name your writer and the mag and be done with it? sheesh |

I don't think that the guy with the blog about Kip is Kip. It just doesn't make sense. I do think it is just another alias of scotth/ClarkstonKent. |

Better yet. Why don't you two just whip it out. Lay it on the table and settle it that way. ;) i'm just ready for the article to come out. |

You have the wrong writer then. Sorry. Your idea of the writer must be a lower name |

I told you guys that I am a former college runner and have been a frequent poster to letsRun over the years. I do regularly correspond on facebook/email with ClarkstonKent aka Scott Hubbard as well as Ouch1000 as well as GK as well as many others. |

I don't believe you. I think you are kip. That said, the argument about kip is just plain stupid and ads nothing to the thread. When or if it comes out it will. Arguing if it will come out or not is just plain dumb. |

SOKLR - Serious question, not just pessimism or subterfuge. Why is important to the writer/magazine that they are NOT named at this point? The story is out there so it's not like loosing out on a scoop. If they really have pursued Kip for an interview Kip knows what magazine it is so they aren't preventing the possibility of an injunction or something like that. I can't see why not having the name of the magazine out there would make it MORE likely that Kip would talk to them. If anything, it seems like it would build anticipation and have more people looking to get the issue whenever it comes out. |

Completely agree. If this mystery writer is indeed working on a story, the only way I can see them getting "scooped" is by someone else deciding that mystery writer doesn't exist, and doing their own piece. Frankly, I'm fine with either one. The only truly bad outcome is that nothing gets written. People have argued that an article is meaningless, adds nothing to this thread, stop obsessing/whining, etc. To which I'd again say that an article in any decent running magazine gets far more eyeballs than a thread on letsrun, a single coherent piece would be far more readable than the 128 pages of this thread, and that this thread has dissappeared in the past, and may again in the future. The only one who really benefits by the story not being told is Kip, so why not put on the conspiracy theories to rest and name the writer? About a month ago kirkaz posted (bottom of page 99): "I've tried to ask Clarkston Kent how much longer, and i've told you what the hold up is right now 1)the writer is on business trip 2)contacting Kip" Quite a business trip by now. And if Kip chose to not talk to this writer for the last several months, waiting more will help how? What's the latest reason for the hold-up? |

Isn't it painfully obvious by now that there is no article and no writer and no publication... it's simply filler to continue the thread... The thread has officially lost all juice due to overkill... Kip's a douche... that's pretty much the end of the story. I'm pretty sure that half the replies are simply anonymous "bumps" by S0KLR and other people to keep the thread going to feed what I would consider this point, a trolling effort. The story of Kip and the data to nail him was great... at this point, I'm saying the thread is somewhere around 5/10 the last 40 - 50 pages due to the nonsense about "the article"... Let's get back to bashing Ryan Hall and discussing how there will never be another Brian Sell... And I'm sure it won't take long for something post by SOKLR or whatever his anonymous name is saying something like...
Joseph Smith reading golden plates... L.Ron Hubbard and scientology.... and now... "the article"... |

I'll tell you why he can't name the magazine. It's because there is no writer and no article. Never was. It's all made up by this SKLOR/scotth/clarkstonkent and whatever other alias this guy is using. Just a big troll job now. "Look at me!!!!! Look at me!!!!! Look at my blog!!!!! Look at my blog!!!!" |

The thread is interesting when races are vetted and observations made. Conjectures about the article, people's identities, etc are non-productive and distracting and makes the thread a typical garbagy LR thread. There were recent discoveries about Boston 2008 and 2009, and Jacksonville 2006 (was this the first unusual race?) that were interesting (though not "diagnostic") but not catalogued in soklr's blog as "suspicious." |

Kip is less evil than all of the people associated with Penn State football. Let this thread die. |

If this story never makes it off the LR message board, it will basically be known to a small group of diehards who feel good that they exposed a serial cheater. But if you've only exposed him to a back-corner of the internet, have you really exposed him? I know a lot of runners who have never heard of Litton, although a few have recognized the name from seeing this thread title. This is an interesting story. It's worthy of being told properly and to a wider audience. Thus, the concern about the existence/status of this publication. |

I am starting to wonder - is SOKLR making some money off the blog through google advertising or anything? That's the only motivation I can see for keeping the whole thing alive if there isn't an article coming. Also the motivation to bump the thread for adding a new picture or whatever after it falls off for a few days. |
| or this... |

I've always thought this would be a great idea. Monetize the blog, and use the proceeds to get a paid sponsorship for the Crim 10-miler, or the Detroit Marathon (closest big races to Kip). It would be sweet to have "KipLitton.blogspot.com" plastered on the back of 10,000+ race T-shirts. Article or no article, that would raise some awareness of Kip's shenanigans within the local running community. |
