Perhaps Kip is trying to get a legal injunction of some sort to prevent the article from being printed. it will fail though, and the article will be printed.

I can't believe you losers are still at it. This guy is pathetic but he's got nothing on you guys.

Yes its true, in any story like this its the denial or cover-up and refusal to accept responsibility that infuriates people. Once he's totally come clean, people would be pushing at an open door unless he did it again.

There were people saying this on page 1, apologists are as bad as the cheat.
Yes, please elaborate on why you care so much what people get out of this thread?

I'm here for the entertainment - it is an amazing story.
I'm asking you these questions because the whole thing is starting to sour - KL obviously made some dumb decisions about his running...but is that enough to do, and keep doing, what is no doubt major damage to his career and family? You google Kip Litton and you don't get his dental practice, you get his cheating at running.
So at some point you have to think about proportionality and your own motives. Has the guy paid enough? I think so. Are you pouring it on? If your activities were in the newspaper with your real names on it, would you be proud?
Has he paid enough? Who knows. It's not like he cut across a poorly marked course in a moment of weakness- he's poured a tremendous amount of time and energy into repeated episodes of cheating/fabricating. At some point in there he could have contemplated the damage to his professional and personal life were he to be found out. He's clearly smart enough to figure out that it wouldn't be a good thing for him- and yet he kept doing it. So now everyone is supposed to just move along and forget it? Unlikely, at least not until he comes out with a real apology, or all of his exploits are laid out in detail, either by him or someone else. As to would people be proud- I think those who did the work of outing him should and would be proud. They exposed one serial slimeball with a lot of effort, and hopefully the next person that thinks of doing something similar will think twice after contemplating their own 100 page thread.
hmm...if you search for "David Litton dentist" nothing comes up until page 2. So maybe he's not being punished so badly, if he calls himself David Litton professionally.

All,

Ok, I'll bite, in case by some miracle this was actually posted by Mr. Litton himself.
What I want is an explanation of your 2010 race in Vermont. I want to know why you don't show up on the ASI pictures at mile 9. I want to know how you got on pace by mile 10 despite having to run through 4500 people who started before you did. I want to know why your splits between 1-10, 10-13.1, 13.1-20, and 20-26.2 vary to the degree that they do. If you did not run every step of our course, I want to know how you were able to pull it off, exactly.
You have my business email address and phone number, as we exchanged emails and a call after that race regarding why you weren't awarded the 3rd place prize for your age group. If you don't feel comfortable responding on this forum feel free to drop me a line off the board, which I will keep confidential if you so request.
That is what I want, thanks for asking.
To those saying asking if Kip has "paid enough" personally, my answer is NO.
Not in a long shot.
He registered into Boston a month ago using a race he was confronted in about cheating. That doesn't show much in terms of him changing his ways.
He either comes clean... quits cheating... or frankly quits running races.
Then all this will go away.
I am not holding my breath.

Ignoring the idiot trolls, what has anyone actually done?
Has he paid enough? Er no he hasn't "paid" anything.
Are we pouring it on? No
What activities? Trying to uphold fair play ? Yes
You came in with some questions, we answered them moderately and it appears that you don't like them. Sorry about that.
I'll say it once more, if he totally comes clean, explains it all then it all stops.

All,
I am sorry. What more do you want? I did not profit financially from this. The damage that this has caused to my practice and reputation has been immesurabe. I have stopped running in most races. Boston was planned many years ago, I qualified and I'm going. Can't you folks just give me some peace?
Yours in running,
KL
Sounds like coming clean to me.

Are you really that gullible?
Kip ran Boston in 2010. I know because I beat him. To take the above post at face value he planned running at Boston in 2010, taking off 2011, then running again in 2012? That makes as little sense as the rest of this.
Something that I still don't understand about the Missoula Marathon....
In the Missoula Marathon video, the announcer calls out Mike Telling's name (the true Masters winner) while he is passing Kip (the would've been Masters winner) near the finish. At this point of the race did the announcer know that Kip had cheated and would be DQ'd, and therefore, announced Telling as the winner? Or did the announcer screw up? The look on Kip's face is like "WTF, I'm the master's winner".

Ouch1000 is from Montana and I believe affiliated with the Missoula Marathon (I'm pretty sure I've met him on a few occasions and have shared a beer or two). Also, the announcer is a stud masters runner himself (good friend of mine and frequent contributor to this site), and I'd imagine he new Kip was in the race and chose to ignore him.
I lived in Montana for 7 years and know the community up there, and all of these guys regularly visit this site.
I always thought the "outing" came after the MM, hence my confusion. If the announcer had knowledge of KL and his antics prior to the race, then the video makes complete sense.
Just so you guys know, I've been given the name of the magazine and author that the big article is supposed to come out in, and I've been told this author wants to contact me. I must admit that as of today this author has yet to contact me but I'm told this author has been using my blog as a major source of information. The magazine that I've been told it's going to be published in was >1million in circulation in 2009. Now this is all based on my email correspondence with some of the original Kip Litton detectives Scott Hubbard of Michigan running community (who posts as ScottH/ClarkstonKent on letsrun) and "Ouch1000"(letsrun handle) of Montana (I know Ouch's real name too but he chooses not to identify himself publicly -> "Ouch" helped bust Kip at Missoula). Both of these guys (Scott & "Ouch1000") have witnessed Kip first-hand and have been in on the Kip story much before I got involved with it, which wasn't until late 2010/early 2011). I truly believe Scott and Ouch are telling me the truth about this article that's supposed to be coming out. I am from the East coast but choose not to identify myself publicly for my own safety (who knows what Kip might try to do to me for starting a blog, which I created only in attempt to help connect the dots with other LetsRun posters to this fascinating puzzle.)
Some history of how I became involved and obsessed with Kip Litton's cheating and why I created a blog in the 1st place
I only found out about Kip Litton in late 2010, after a few threads had surfaced on letsrun.com and the worldrecordrun website had already been taken down. Right around late 2010/New Years 2011, I discovered BAA 5K 2010 pictures of Kip supposedly running 5:34min/mi and wow it was when I saw those pictures, I was laughing so hard (and so shocked at the same time). So I started a blog just to host a few pictures of his finishes at races like this 5K race (17:17 is pretty fast for a late 40s guy) and a few other miscellaneous races. Then I noticed a lot of wow posts on my blog for responses, and then all of the thread(s) on the KL subject were constantly getting deleted, so I HAD To Start documenting everything on the BLOG, as it was NOT only frustrating that LetsRun kept deleting them, but it was frustrating because I knew the race photos at every race showed some amazing and revealing stuff.... not only to convince other LR posters that Kip's indeed cheating, but also to enable & encourage other LR posters to then help with the detective work.
So, as you may know, in early Jan 2011, threads on Kip Litton kept getting deleted in early January 2011 until OUCH1000(montana guy) called LetsRun on the phone one day and managed to get in touch with ROJO. I quote from his post on my blog and in this thread:
http://kiplitton.blogspot.com/2011/01/update-discussion-on-history.html
"Finally, I phoned the LR office and by a stroke of luck happened to get RoJo on the phone. I explained all of the above to him, and he read a few e-mails to me over the phone from Litton, which I debunked for the most part. He told me that the notes from Litton sounded somewhat far-fetched. He also said that it is always good to keep evidence of cheating public, so that evidence will be available for all to see. He agreed that LR was a good site for this type of thing unless people posted too much trash and vitriol. The race directors at Missoula and Delaware also wrote to LR by e-mail shortly afterwards to corroborate the DQs at their races, and it was at this time that the current thread was allowed to continue."
SO, once the thread was allowed to continue (THIS THREAD you're reading, a thread that's now 100pgs+!!!!!), tons of other anonymous LetsRun posters (you guys!) joined me on the detective work. What made it better was because I was documenting all of this in a blog, you guys were willing to put in the detective work because you knew efforts would uncover something shocking and that it wouldn't go to waste. Many anonymous letsrun.com posters helped me in seeing things I couldn't even see, such as the shoe change at Providence COX marathon and the baseball cap change during the 2010 Boston Marathon (and the 1st cap being the same one he wore the day before at the 17:17 5k). Then, as you know, perhaps one of the more amazing discoveries was the discovery of the race websites (West Wyoming, Sandy Springs, PineHills 5k) by an anonymous LR poster as being fabricated and all hosted in the same place/IP address (and being the same web host as Kip Litton's dental practice URL).
Anyway, I just want to point out that as of now I have reason to believe there is an article in the works based on this correspondence with Ouch1000 (Missoula guy who has chosen not to identify himself publicly) and ClarkstonKent (aka Scott Hubbard - you can find him on facebook).
As hard as it is, Scott has told me we all have to be patient, but this story isn't going anywhere so I expect to see something (hopefully) pretty soon.
