Rulon Gardner makes me sick. He took a perfect international match record away from Karelin and then just let himself fall apart. Pathetic and embarrassing.

Karelin is eve more patetic for letting someone so pathetic take it away from him. He must be soft.
One point. Lucky reversal.
One of the great upsets in olympic history. Congrats to Rulon on trying to lose some weight.
99% of wrestlers are dope users.
ulon Gardner has had an amazing streak of luck with survival. While in grammar school, Rulon was impaled by an arrow in a show-and-tell incident. In 2002, Gardner was stranded on a wilderness snowmobile trip and had to have a toe amputated after suffering frostbite. In 2004, he was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. In February 2007, Gardner and two others crashed a Cirrus SR-22 airplane into Lake Powell. After surviving the impact, they were forced to swim in 44 °F (7 °C) water for over an hour. The three survived overnight without shelter or fire in 28 °F (−2 °C) air temperature. His amazing luck streak continued when a fisherman, out of his usual route, found and picked them up in the morning.
when exactly did he change his name to Rulon Gardner from Bill Brasky?

Ridiculous is right. Wrestlers can lose a ton of weight in an afternoon--why'd it take him a whole week?
32 pounds? How is this even possible? That's like 20,000 calories per day. It must be mostly water.
All I have to say is not even the most ardent Lance supporter thinks Karelin was clean. Got to love an Olympic Champ with the nickname, "The Experiment."
The undead comparison is especially appropriate given his use of cadaver derived HGH.
That isn't that much weight to lose. Most people have that much spackle like material built up in their colon.
didn't the other dude on the show lose 41... just sayin
Mark my words, Rulon will win the $250k. One thing about the hard core athletes who end up on the show is that they can handle the discomfort of exercise unlike most of the contestents. In addition, as a wrestler, he knows how to go all ED and dehydrate himself before weigh-ins.
I also thought he would win, until I realized even as a wrestler he was bigger. therefore i bet with maybe 3 weeks left he'll stop losing so much weight as a result of gaining muscle.
we're not talking pro wrestling here. no one works hard like real wrestlers. I wrestled one season in high school and the workouts were killers in comparison to any running workouts I've had. In fact, during Hell Week after XMas, we would do something like a hard xc/track workout before starting practice. We'd do a number of incredibly steep 150m hills sprinting (the other guys would be puking from this) and then have to sprint up half of the hill carrying another wrestler on our shoulders. Then we'd do a handful of circuits of the campus, up a series of flights of steps and around the campus. Then we'd start practice. We had 750 pushups and 1,200 situps per day, plus about five or six hours of practicing moves, drilling, etc. Even though Gardner was a Super Heavyweight (if memory serves) and didn't have to make weight, he knows how to work and to make weight and he will do so.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
