Who knows what really happened? I just hope he is treated fairly. Really, it's a sad story and I don't mean to make fun, but that seems like a funny way of putting it, at least going from Kenyan English to American English. |

Of course it's serious, but we know him as a runner, and therefore it would have been worse for the sport if he had been arrested for doping. As it is, he's a thug, which is nothing new to the major sports ("soccer" included). Figures that with all of their depth, the thug in the group ends up being the worlds greatest marathoner. |

It wasn't his fellow Kenyan runners who framed him, but rather the uninspired Ethiopian runners who want Gebrselassie to keep the record!! See, Geb knew that Wanjiru was coming for him and wanted to retire, but the Ethiopian government and "top" Ethiopian runners told Geb that they would "handle it" for him. Once Geb heard the plan, he gave it the go ahead and announced his return and then the plan was set into action!! |

Are people seriously defending him? They found a gun in his home, one that witnesses said he used to attack others with. He attempted to murder two people and injure another. This man, fast or not, is a complete idiot and loser who needs to be locked up in prison before his drinking causes more damages. It's about time he serves some sort of sentence for his reckless lifestyle. |

^That gun could have been set up in there. You don't know that. And for all you know, he didn't even try to injure the guard or his wife. Maybe it was all a frame to divorce Wanjiru and get his money. Just like that show on Tv where that lady poisoned her Husband and blamed it on heart attack, and then tried to kill her own daughter by trying to fram here. People are crazy. |

Contrary to popular opinion, many elites actually DO go out on the town and are not complete social recluses. It's true that the top elite are usually smart enough to curb their drinking prior to major competitions, and during the heaviest periods of training, but that does not mean that they don't take it easy and hit the bars now and then. If anything, it makes the story more believable, that a young elite athlete who seldom drinks, is more likely than other young men to fail at holding his liquor and control himself while under the influence. |
