In 2 days I'm off to SE asia for 4 weeks on holiday. I normally run about 80 miles per week and was intending on keeping this up throughout. Going to Bangkok for 5 days, then all through Vietnam and back up through Cambodia. So I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on good places to run - rather than just heading straight out the door and making it up as I go. Cheers |

You're travelling. Just go out the door and make it up as you go along! The the best way to open yourself up to seeing something interesting. You should check in with the Hash House Harriers for some runs and also maybe get some tips. I've done HHH in Seoul, Taipei, Koh Samui (Thailand) and Phenom Phenh (Cambodia) It was fun to run somewhere I would not have otherwise. |

I did an out and back on the Ho Chi Minh trail in the morning, smelled like victory. |

Bangkok sucks for running. I had do just go in circles in a park there. Running on the roads was near impossible. In the other cities and the country it was just fine. Cambodia I ran on Pnom Penh (sp?) on the streets and it was ok. I ran all over Siem Reap and that was great. Really tho in Cambodia I didn't even dream about trying to find a trail to run on. You can't walk five feet w/o tripping over someone missing a limb from a land mine. I have not been to Viet Nam so I cant comment on that. But I enjoyed running in SE asia minus Bangkok of course. |
