Rupp, Lindgren, Derrick (high school only race).
Ritzenhein ran 14:10 at the state meet of Michigan.
Chris derrick ran a 13:55 by himself at arcadia if I remember correctly. Lindgren probably has the fastest though. I don't know.

Note the op's post, its fastest high school CROSS COUNTRY 5k, not track. Rupp, Derrick and Lindgren's were all on the track.
Ritz'z 14:10 from the 2000 Michigan State meet is most likely it. Second and third were 15:05 and 15:06 (third being Tim Moore who placed 8th at FLXC a few weeks later).
Gerry Lindgren. 16:08 on the Mt. SAC XC course. Works out to about 12:32 for 5k.
RWD: If you could go back and change one race, which race would it be? What would be the outcome?
GL: If I could go back and change one race, I would change the Olympic 10,000-meter race in 1964. Before that race, I had raced a four-mile race on the Mt. SAC cross country course. Someone came to our training camp and said there was a race at Mt. SAC that morning. Almost all the distance runners went down to get in a good workout. At the start I sprinted out at a controlled panic and kept up my panic through the whole race. My time of 16:08 over the four-mile course gave me an average mile pace of 4:02!...

I guess that could be true...if 55 seconds is well over a minute.
How I wonder, did nobody else at any of the mile markers not realize this?
Not one single picture
its mind-bottling
Snoop Doggy Dogg - 20:43

Yes, your mind is clearly in a bottle.
How would you know?
Even assuming all of the possible courses were measured correctly (big assumption), the courses still aren't identical.
Windham invitational

On a short course - stick with the track for times
So is Ritz's the fastest CROSS COUNTRY 5k ever? I didn't get a definitive answer from this.

Yes, nobody has run faster than that. The course he ran it on is pretty fast, but accurate.
Prefontaine ran 13:39.6
I am from Rockford and ran on the XC team 2013 and 2014. Dathan also went to Rockford. My Senior year we went to state and won. The course is a solid course, but is not crazy fast. As far as I know he has the fastest high school XC time.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
