Shut up, he said he chose to leave. Idiot.
He can say whatever he likes. We all can. That's the irony of the situation.
But the fact is that he was asked to leave.
Of course.... what the hell would Mahon want with a cash cow like Hall? The money he had made Terrance would make your eyes fall out......
It is never about the money in running. Believe, there are much easier ways to make it than being a coach.
A coach makes 5 percent. Agent 10 to 15 percent. If anything it can be said that the coach was the reason the athlete made money in the first place. The coaches are the unsung heroes. The athletes are the ones with the giant egos. Ryan Hall, a good guy in his own right, was a detriment to this group. MTC is not the Ryan and Sara Hall show.

He was asked to leave?? Well since you're an 'insider' you might take the time to enlighten us all as to the reasons why??
I don't like Hall but the idea of him being asked to leave is ridiculous
Incorrect.

First and foremost; who are you and were you in the room when he was supposedly "asked to leave"?
I personally don't believe it.
Furthermore if this WAS true, MTC, not Ryan Hall, needs to get off their high horse.
It wouldn't be the first time that a great runner proved a Coach or team of dufus-staff piggy-backing off their talent and inner drive were rendered meaningless by their continued success.
it's thanks to Ryan Hall, and some Deena Kastor, that we know about Terrence Mahon and Mammoth training club, just like its thanks to Brian Sell we know about Hansons-brooks.
MTC has to be thankful for ryan, but Mahon may have wished to no longer be known as a one-trick pony. It's like when a one-hit wonder group wishes people would like their other music, but they've only produced one hit.
Mahon has a few other solid runners, but maybe wishes to be known by his other runners. Good luck, but don't think he'll be having the same success with anyone as he has with ryan.
And sara definitely needs a change of pace, she's been washed up under Mahon. She needs to come down from altitude more often.
I'm sure he was not asked to leave. Ryan and Deena are the reason people travel to Mammoth. They're the best thing that happened to the MTC.
So Mahon, Deena, Meb, Cragg, Uceny, Bauhs, the Pierces, etc, etc all ganged up on the Halls and ASKED them to leave??
Funniest thing I've read all day

Try the opposite.
runners at mtc may have their opinions from a possibly late night chat with mahon, but lets get real. no one shoots the cash cow

Kevin, don't you normally use your own name on here? Brian made the Hansons-Brooks. Everyone knows that and you need to get over yourself.
This is the one and only negative of group training dynamics: Sooner or later it all blows up and becomes an episode of MTV's Real World. Then they start voting each other off.
Grown-ups are just bigger children.

The last few years, Hall refused to do a lot of the strength work needed to keep him from getting his nagging injuries. He loves to bang the workouts but loathes the drills, squats, hamstring work, general gym work, etc. These things make you fast and keep the 140mpw body structure secure and stable for a career.
Hall is a phenomenal talent. And a wonderful human being for his charity work. But in regards to his own running, his ego has gotten in the way of what he truly can become.
